Journal of Family History (JFH), published quarterly, has been the leading resource for scholars interested in the history of the family for over three decades. Today, JFH continues to be the most important forum for international research on family, kinship and population. Its focus encompasses work from a variety of perspectives, including gender, sexuality, race, class, and culture.
Journal of Family Issues (JFI), published monthly, provides up-to-date research, theory, and analyses on marriage and family life. With JFI, you'll also examine professional issues, research developments, and practical applications from an interdisciplinary perspective, encompassing such areas as: Family Studies, Family Violence, Gender Studies, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology. Each issue features articles, commentaries, and advocacy pieces designed to help you understand the challenges confronting today's families.
The mission of the Journal of Family Nursing (JFN) is to extend knowledge about family response to health and illness and improve healthcare offered to families. JFN is a peer-reviewed journal publishing scholarly work on nursing research, practice, education, and policy issues related to families in health and illness. Appropriate articles of empirical and theoretical analysis on the subject of family health will also be considered for publication. Both family-as-context and family-as-unit are represented. The journal recognizes a strong mandate to represent cultural diversity and families across the life cycle and encourages interdisciplinary and collaborative perspectives as well as international contributions. Papers will be selected for their scientific merit and creative treatment of significant issues in the field. One of the objectives of the journal is to establish a forum in which practitioners, educators, and researchers in various clinical specialties and settings can extend the lively debate and begin a more critical dialogue about the family in health and illness.
The Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery is an international journal, and the official journal of both the International Society of Feline Medicine) and the American Association of Feline Practitioners).
The Journal of Fire Protection Engineering is a rigorously peer-reviewed international journal that is unique in fire engineering by virtue of articles being of immediate use to its readership. To accomplish this, the Journal provides fire protection engineers, fire safety engineers and other engineering professionals with clear descriptions both of state-of-the-art engineering methods and new data obtained from modern measurement or survey techniques.Examples and detailed case studies demonstrate how these advanced methods and valuable data can be applied to the fire safety design and evaluation of buildings and other structures (e.g., bridges, tunnels, etc.) and transportation vehicles (e.g. rail, ship and aircraft). Each issue contains in-depth articles by both researchers and practitioners on advances in the following key engineering areas:·Fire behavior modeling (calculating the behavior of flames and smoke in enclosed spaces and in the open)·Fire impact modeling (calculating the impact of flames and smoke both on occupants and on the built environment, including structural effects)·Fire detection modeling (calculating the response and reliability of detection devices)·Fire protection modeling (evaluating the effectiveness of flame/smoke control with various engineering strategies, including techniques to predict how area flooding, sprinkler activation, smoke venting and compartmentation control a fire)·Reliability of fixed fire protection, including corrosion control and maintenance strategies·Approximate or simplified engineering calculations of fire behavior, fire impact, fire detection and fire protection.·Occupant behavior modeling (predicting the behavior of occupants during a fire, including evacuation response time and occupant response to visual and audio alarms and signage).·Characterization of fire and occupant scenarios for engineering analysis·Engineering risk analysis and risk evaluation of fire scenarios in terms of life safety, property cost, business interruption and environmental damage·Case studies of performance-based fire safety design and assessment·Procedures for obtaining engineering data from test methods (e.g., fire behavior data from tests on combustible materials; fire impact data from tests on structural elements; fire protection data from tests of fire interactions with control measures, occupant behavior data from occupant surveys or evacuation drills)·Interpretation of data from realistic or full-scale fire tests or post-fire surveys·Literature surveys and book reviews covering the preceding topicsInformation provided in articles generally is based on documented research or design activity, and when appropriate, well illustrated by photographs, diagrams and charts. New developments from around the world are published in a form that allows for immediate application to engineering problem solving.
The Journal of Fire Sciences is a leading, peer-reviewed international journal for the reporting of new and significant applied research within the fire safety science community. Its overall content is generally aimed toward the prevention and mitigation of the adverse effects of fires involving combustible materials. Contributors and subscribers alike represent countries from around the world.Published bimonthly, the Journal of Fire Sciences addresses essentially all scientific aspects and disciplines involved with fires whose consequences are considered detrimental to life and property.Topics, generally involving experimental or theoretical studies of fire initiation and growth, fire containment, fire threat to people and the environment and fire safety engineering, frequently include the following:· Measurement of fire properties of materials and products, including ignitability, heat release, smoke and combustion product generation.
Journal of Generic Medicines is the major, international business journal written by and for professionals working in the generic medicines sector. It includes expert analysis, briefings and legal updates on all aspects of business development, regulatory affairs, manufacturing and marketing affecting the generic pharmaceutical industry.
The Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry and Neurology brings together original research, clinical reviews, and timely case reports on all aspects of neuropsychiatric care of aging patients, including age-related biologic, neurologic, and psychiatric illnesses; psychosocial problems; forensic issues; and family care. The journal offers clinicians and investigators from geriatric psychiatry, neurology, psychology, nursing, and social work the latest peer-reviewed information from respected researchers on cognitive, mood, anxiety, addictive, and sleep disorders in older patients. JGPN describes tested diagnostic tools and practical, cost-effective therapies. It also pursues advances in allied sciences as diverse as molecular biology and genetics, brain imaging, neuropathology, neuropsychology, pharmacology, epidemiology, and health sciences research.
The Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume) is essential reading for everyone involved in restoring the function to the hand and upper limb. Dedicated to the needs of hand, plastic, reconstructive and orthopaedic surgeons, it publishes the best selection of current papers on hand surgery. The journal regularly highlights key developments in a range of original, authoritative and highly informative articles written by distinguished experts from around the world.
While there are several journals in the field of management and some in the field of health (including evaluation, policy, and social sciences), there is no journal focusing exclusively on health management and policy. Although most journals address scholars, there is a dearth of journals which are scholarly in their depth but address reflective practitioners as well as other concerned persons. The Journal of Health Management proposes to fill this gap. The Journal of Health Management is designed as a forum for exploring major issues of health policy and health management (including population and family welfare) in developing countries with a view to assisting the better implementation of desired changes. It caters to the needs of health policy-makers, health managers, reflective practitioners and action-oriented researchers.
