 Malaria Journal is aimed at the scientific community interested in malaria in its broadest sense. It is the only journal that publishes exclusively articles on malaria and, as such, it aims to bring together knowledge from the different specialities involved in this very broad discipline, from the bench to the bedside and to the field. Malaria Journal offers a fast publication schedule while maintaining rigorous peer-review; this is achieved by managing the whole of the publication process electronically, from submission to peer-review.

As an official publication of the International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM), Medical Mycology, is an international journal, which focuses on original and innovative studies of all aspects of medical, veterinary and environmental mycology. The topics include, but are not limited to, mycological, biochemical and molecular investigations of etiological agents of mycoses; aspects of pathogenesis, immunology, and epidemiology of mycoses; laboratory approaches to the identification of fungal pathogens; antifungal susceptibility, therapy and prophylaxis; mode of antifungal action; pharmacokinetics and assessments of new antifungal agents; and investigations of the mycological aspects of the indoor environment, with a focus on human and animal health. Medical Mycology Case Reports is an online journal devoted to the publication of case reports that concern unusual medical or veterinary fungal infections. The powerful emergence and global spread of antibiotic resistant microbial pathogens and resistance genes in the 1990s presents challenges to a wide range of disciplines - from the molecular biology of resistance mechanisms, virulence genes, and disease through molecular epidemiology all the way to drug design, infection control, and medical practice. This international journal provides a multidisciplinary forum for peer-reviewed original publications as well as topical reviews and special reports.

Microbial Pathogenesis publishes original contributions and reviews about the molecular and cellular mechanisms of infectious diseases. It covers microbiology, host-pathogen interaction and immunology related to infectious agents, including bacteria, fungi, viruses and protozoa. The journal Microbial Risk Analysis accepts articles dealing with the study of risk analysis applied to microbial hazards. Manuscripts should at least cover any of the components of risk assessment (risk characterization, exposure assessment, etc.), risk management and/or risk communication in any microbiology field (clinical, environmental, food, veterinary, etc.). This journal also accepts article dealing with predictive microbiology, quantitative microbial ecology, mathematical modeling, risk studies applied to microbial ecology, quantitative microbiology for epidemiological studies, statistical methods applied to microbiology, and laws and regulatory policies aimed at lessening the risk of microbial hazards. Work focusing on risk studies of viruses, parasites, microbial toxins, antimicrobial resistant organisms, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and recombinant DNA products are also acceptable.

Microbiology Spectrum® (Spectrum) is an online-only, fully open-access journal that publishes research from all domains of basic, applied, and clinical microbial sciences. Rather than making subjective evaluations of potential impact, Microbiology Spectrum publishes research studies that are of high technical quality and are useful to the community. All decisions are made by an international and diverse editorial board that fully represents the microbiology research community.
