The Energy Geoscience Conference series succeeds the former Petroleum Geology Conference series and comprises a sequence of edited and peer-reviewed volumes arising from the conferences. Oriented towards the energy transition, volumes will explore understanding, technologies, lessons learned and subsurface insights across the full sphere of energy geoscience.
Engineering Geology Special Publications are a successful and popular series devoted to engineering geology and geotechnical topics, often arising from Working Party reports and activity from the GSL Engineering Group.
Geochemistry: Exploration, Environment, Analysis focuses on the use of geochemistry in mineral exploration/resource development and environmental issues related to mining.
Geoenergy focuses on the publications of timely and topical research in subsurface geoscience, critical for this new era of sustainable energy. Geoenergy continues the mission of its sister journal Petroleum Geoscience.
The Geology Of series is a range of regional geology titles that appeal to a broad audience, from amateurs and professionals visiting a region on their holidays, to researchers and engineers needing an overview of an area they are planning to work in.
Geoscience in Practice is a series of books covering the use and application of geological techniques relevant to a subdiscipline. The series aims to present balanced, practical expertise and critical hands-on information from experienced contributors in a way that is clear, straightforward and relevant for a broad audience, including undergraduates, trainee geoscientists, professionals, practitioners, and others.
Journal of the Geological Society publishes topical, innovative and interdisciplinary research with global reach across the full range of Earth and planetary sciences.
Memoirs are the longest standing GSL book series, Memoirs first appeared in 1958 and are definitive treatments of their subjects by acknowledged experts in their field.
Petroleum Geoscience publishes a mix of articles covering exploration, exploitation, appraisal, development and enhancement of sub-surface hydrocarbon resources and carbon repositories.
Proceedings of the Yorkshire Geological Society has been published without a break since 1839 and welcomes original research papers on all aspects of geology.
Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology publishes papers addressing sustainability, climate change, energy transition, geohazards and geo-resilience, to inform academic and industry practitioners in engineering geology and hydrogeology.
Scottish Journal of Geology acts as the focus for papers on all aspects of Scottish geology and geomorphology, and its contiguous areas, including the surrounding seas.
Special Publications are the Society’s flagship book series, SPs represent a state-of-the-art treatment of their subject matter and are renowned throughout the global geoscience community for their high quality of science and production.
The Geological Society is one of the largest publishers of Earth science books in the world, producing a wide range of peer-reviewed titles. Most books are published within one of a number of key series – Special Publications, Engineering Geology Special Publications, Memoirs, or the “Geology of...” series. Others are published in conjunction with other international Earth science organisations such as IAVCEI and TMS. The Society also has an agreement with IUGS to publish books within GSL series.
