Language, Culture and Curriculum provides a forum for the discussion of the many factors, social, cultural, cognitive and organisational, which are relevant to the formulation and implementation of language curricula. Second languages, minority and heritage languages are a special concern. First-language and foreign language studies are also welcomed when they have implications for multiculturalism.Language Culture and Curriculum welcomes articles on language teaching programmes of all kinds that are designed to promote multiculturalism, with a special concern for weaker and threatened languages. Studies of first language learning are not excluded, nor are studies of English and other major languages, whether as first or as foreign and second languages, provided the topics of cultural content and learner motivation are prominent. Priority is given to articles dealing with language teaching, but historical, sociological and theoretical articles are welcomed if they deal with cultural and attitudinal aspects of language relevant to teaching practice.

Laterality

Laterality: Asymmetries of Body, Brain and Cognition publishes high quality research on all aspects of lateralisation in humans and non-human species. Laterality's principal interest is in the psychological, behavioural and neurological correlates of lateralisation. The editors will also consider accessible papers from any discipline which can illuminate the general problems of the evolution of biological and neural asymmetry, papers on the cultural, linguistic, artistic and social consequences of lateral asymmetry, and papers on its historical origins and development. The interests of workers in laterality are typically broad. Submission of inter-disciplinary work, either empirical or theoretical, or concerned with problems of measurement or statistical analysis, is therefore also encouraged. The journal publishes special issues on particular topics. The first issue was published in March 1996, and six issues are now published every year.The editors encourage the submission of dissenting opinions and comments that directly relate to papers that have been published in Laterality. The editors reserve the right to terminate an interchange after a comment and response to the comment. Law and Humanities is a peer-reviewed journal, providing a forum for scholarly discourse within the arts and humanities around the subject of law. For this purpose, the arts and humanities disciplines are taken to include literature, history (including history of art), philosophy, theology, classics and the whole spectrum of performance and representational arts. The remit of the journal does not extend to consideration of the laws that regulate practical aspects of the arts and humanities (such as the law of intellectual property).  Law and Humanities is principally concerned to engage with those aspects of human experience which are not empirically quantifiable or scientifically predictable. Each issue will carry four or five major articles of between 8,000 and 12,000 words each. The journal will also carry shorter papers (up to 4,000 words) sharing good practice in law and humanities education; reports of conferences; reviews of books, exhibitions, plays, concerts and other artistic publications.

Learning: Research and Practice aims to be the journal of choice for empirically supported learning theorisations that challenge the existing view. The intent is to support distinct and progressive research that responds to the problems of current educational practices and traditional views of learning. It seeks to publish articles that introduce innovative perspectives in due recognition of the intellectual history of the field, and grounded in empirically supported investigations of learning processes and outcomes. In recognising learning as a complex phenomenon, Learning welcomes scholarship of a variety of orientations and methodologies, drawing from, but not limited to, the psychological to the sociocultural, and the micro-genetic to the ecological.

Published Sections
Learning: Research and Practice accepts both established and emerging epistemic warranting methods, and welcomes theoretical investigations and empirical studies. The journal welcomes submissions for the following sections:
  • Regular Articles (6,000 words): articles of empirically supported studies on learning, or extended theoretical arguments.
  • Short Reports (3,000 words): reports of innovative current work at earlier stages of idea conceptualisation and/or empirical exploration that is of high value to learning researchers and practitioners.
  • Letters to the Editor (1,000 words): article commentaries, responses to commentaries, and/or discussions of general relevance.
  • Book Reviews (1,000 words): reviews to provide recommendations to the scholarly community.

Life Writing, one of the leading journals in the field of biography and autobiography, has the unique and unusual policy of carrying both scholarly articles and critically informed personal narrative. The journal has three sections: Academic Articles, 8220;Reflections8221; and Reviews. In the Reflections section, we hope to find the reflective/discursive voice leading the minor theme of the autobiographical. However, fiction, ficto-memoir and poetry are not accepted. Our editorial board comprises leaders in the field of life writing practice, such as Paul John Eakin, Sidonie Smith, Lila Abu-Lughod and Ruth Behar.
