IEEE Spectrum Magazine. the flagship publication of the IEEE. explores the development. applications and implications of new technologies. It anticipates trends in engineering. science. and technology. and provides a forum for understanding. discussion and leadership in these areas. IEEE Spectrumis the world"s leading engineering and scientific magazine. Read by over 300.000 engineers worldwide. Spectrum provides international coverage of all technical issues and advances in computers. communications. and electronics. Written in clear. concise language for the non-specialist.Spectrum"shigh editorial standards and worldwide resources ensure technical accuracy and state-of-the-art relevance.
This publication provides a systems-level, focused forum for application-oriented manuscripts that address complex systems and system-of-systems of national and global significance. It intends to encourage and facilitate cooperation and interaction among IEEE Societies with systems-level and systems engineering interest, and to attract non-IEEE contributors and readers from around the globe. Our IEEE Systems Council job is to address issues in new ways that are not solvable in the domains of the existing IEEE or other societies or global organizations. These problems do not fit within traditional hierarchical boundaries. For example, disaster response such as that triggered by Hurricane Katrina, tsunamis, or current volcanic eruptions is not solvable by pure engineering solutions. We need to think about changing and enlarging the paradigm to include systems issues.

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems focuses on the organization, design, development, integration, and operation of complex systems for space, air, ocean, or ground environment. These systems include, but are not limited to, navigation, avionics, spacecraft, aerospace power, radar, sonar, telemetry, defense, transportation, automated testing, and command and control.
The articles in this journal are peer reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE PSPB Operations Manual (sections 8.2.1.C & 8.2.2.A). Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.
Corresponding authors from low-income countries are eligible for waived or reduced open access APCs.
The IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing is a cross-disciplinary and international archive journal aimed at disseminating results of research on the design of systems that can recognize, interpret, and simulate human emotions and related affective phenomena. The journal publishes original research on the principles and theories explaining why and how affective factors condition interaction between humans and technology, on how affective sensing and simulation techniques can inform our understanding of human affective processes, and on the design, implementation and evaluation of systems that carefully consider affect among the factors that influence their usability. Surveys of existing work are considered for publication when they propose a new viewpoint on the history and the perspective on this domain. The journal covers but is not limited to the following topics::
The IEEE Transactions on AgriFood Electronics (TAFE) is dedicated to cutting edge research covering Circuits and Systems, integrating the needed sensors, actuators and interfaces, applied to the AgriFood chain of value, including technologies for food related to its production, processing, quality control along the distribution chain, and preservation, which require various integrated sensing systems, corresponding actuators, manufacturing, and diverse integration levels such as Printed-circuit board (PCB), System in board (SIB), System on chip (SoC), and System in package (SIP) integration, and packaging techniques.
The IEEE Transactions on Antennas & Propagation publishes full papers and shorter Communications on original contributions within the general topics of electromagnetics, antennas and wave propagation. Specifically the journal focuses on: antennas, including analysis, design, development, measurement, and testing; radiation, propagation, and the interaction of electromagnetic waves with discrete and continuous media; and applications and systems pertinent to antennas, propagation, and sensing, such as applied optics, millimeter- and sub-millimeter-wave techniques, antenna signal processing and control, radio astronomy, and propagation and radiation aspects of terrestrial and space-based communication, including wireless, mobile, satellite, and telecommunications.
IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity (TAS) contains articles on the applications of superconductivity and other relevant technology. Electronic applications include analog and digital circuits employing thin films and active devices such as Josephson junctions. Large scale applications include magnets for power applications such as motors and generators, for magnetic resonance, for accelerators, and cable applications such as power transmission.
The IEEE Transactions on artificial intelligence (TAI) is a multidisciplinary journal publishing papers on theories and methodologies of Artificial Intelligence. Applications of Artificial Intelligence will also be considered.
The IEEE Transactions on Audio. Speech and Language Processing covers the sciences. technologies and applications relating to the analysis. coding. enhancement. recognition and synthesis of audio. music. speech and language. In particular. audio processing also covers auditory modeling. acoustic modeling and source separation. Speech processing also covers speech production and perception. adaptation. lexical modeling and speaker recognition. Language processing also covers spoken language understanding. translation. summarization. mining. general language modeling. as well as spoken dialog systems.
In the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, the IEEE Control Systems Society publishes high-quality papers on the theory, design, and applications of control engineering. Two types of contributions are regularly considered:
1) Papers: Presentation of significant research, development, or application of control concepts.
2) Technical Notes and Correspondence: Brief technical notes, comments on published areas or established control topics, corrections to papers and notes published in the Transactions.
In addition, special papers (tutorials, surveys, and perspectives on the theory and applications of control systems topics) are solicited.
The IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering (T-ASE) publishes fundamental papers on Automation, emphasizing scientific results that advance efficiency, quality, productivity, and reliability. T-ASE encourages interdisciplinary approaches from computer science, control systems, electrical engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering, operations research, and other fields. T-ASE welcomes results relevant to industries such as agriculture, biotechnology, healthcare, home automation, maintenance, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail, security, service, supply chains, and transportation. T-ASE addresses a research community willing to integrate knowledge across disciplines and industries. For this purpose, each paper includes a Note to Practitioners that summarizes how its results can be applied or how they might be extended to apply in practice.
The IEEE Transactions on Big Data publishes peer reviewed articles with big data as the main focus. The articles will provide cross disciplinary innovative research ideas and applications results for big data including novel theory, algorithms and applications. Research areas for big data include, but are not restricted to, big data analytics, big data visualization, big data curation and management, big data semantics, big data infrastructure, big data standards, big data performance analyses, intelligence from big data, scientific discovery from big data security, privacy, and legal issues specific to big data. Applications of big data in the fields of endeavor where massive data is generated are of particular interest.
The IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems (TBioCAS) addresses areas at the crossroads of Circuits and Systems and Life Sciences. The main emphasis is on microelectronic issues in a wide range of applications found in life sciences, physical sciences and engineering.
