Acta Tropica, is an international journal that covers biomedical and health sciences with particular emphasis on topics relevant to human and animal health in the tropics and the subtropics. Its scope includes the biology of parasites and vectors, welcoming contributions concerning either basic or applied research in disciplines such as taxonomy, morphology, biochemistry, physiology and immunology; the development of tools for diagnosis and disease control; clinical and community medicine; and the epidemiology of communicable disease and health systems.Contributions may be in the form of original papers, review articles or short communications - case reports are not considered for publication. Most downloaded papersBenefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. African Invertebrates is an international peer-reviewed journal that covers the taxonomy, systematics, biology, biogeography, ecology, conservation and palaeontology of Afrotropical invertebrates, whether terrestrial, freshwater or marine, published jointly by the Council of the KwaZulu-Natal Museum and Pensoft Publishers. A printed version of the journal is produced twice a year. All contributions are published in English (British Standard), with an option to add an abstract in any other language that uses Latin or Cyrillic alphabet. When preparing manuscripts, authors are encouraged to make use of extensive holdings of the KwaZulu-Natal Museum and other South African museums and collections, and to deposit holotypes (paratypes) and voucher specimens in recognised South African institutions.
Agricultural and Forest Entomology provides a multi-disciplinary and international forum in which researchers can present their work on all aspects of agricultural and forest entomology to other researchers, policy makers and professionals. The Journal welcomes primary research papers, reviews and short communications on entomological research relevant to the control of insect and other arthropod pests. We invite high quality original research papers on the biology, population dynamics, impact and management of pests of the full range of forest, agricultural and horticultural crops. All cropping systems within these sectors are of interest, including forest plantations, semi-natural forest stands, seed orchards, fruit orchards, agroforestry systems, grassland, arable and horticultural field and protected crops. All papers, including those on insect biology and population dynamics, must be novel and be of applied importance. Papers on population dynamics should focus on the factors which lead to outbreaks of pests or to forecasting these outbreaks. Papers on the management of pests may include the development and use of techniques, such as plant resistance, pheromones, biological control, the economics of pest control and the use of silvicultural and crop management techniques to manage pests. Papers on biology underpinning the development of techniques and strategies of pest management will also be accepted.
The Annales de la Société Entomologique de France founded in 1832, is one of the oldest journals in the world to be devoted to Entomology. After merging with two other journals : 'Revue Française d'Entomologie' and 'la Revue de Pathologie végétale et d'Entomologie agricole de France' in 1965, the Annales kept its title with the amendment 'Nouvelle série'. In 1977, the journal acquired an Editorial board and an International Scientific Committee.
Annals of the Entomological Society of America is published bimonthly in January, March, May, July, September, and November. Annals especially invites submission of manuscripts that integrate different areas of insect biology, and address issues that are likely to be of broad relevance to entomologists. Articles also report on basic aspects of the biology of arthropods, divided into categories by subject matter: systematics; ecology and population biology; arthropod biology; arthropods in relation to plant diseases; conservation biology and biodiversity; physiology, biochemistry, and toxicology; morphology, histology, and fine structure; genetics; and behavior. In addition to research papers, the journal publishes Letters to the Editor, interpretive articles in a Forum section, Book Reviews, and editor-solicited Review Articles.
The Annual Review of Entomology, in publication since 1956, reviews significant developments in the field of Entomology, including Biochemistry and Physiology, Morphology and development, Behavior and Neuroscience, Ecology, Agricultural Entomology and Pest Management, Biological Control, Forest Entomology, Acarines and other Arthropods, Medical and Veterinary Entomology, Pathology, Vectors of Plant Disease, Genetics, Genomics, and Systematics, Evolution, and Biogeography.
Apidologie is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to the biology of insects belonging to the superfamily Apoidea. Its range of coverage includes behavior, ecology, pollination, genetics, physiology, systematics, toxicology and pathology. Also accepted are papers on the rearing, exploitation and practical use of Apoidea and their products, as far as they make a clear contribution to the understanding of bee biology.Apidologie is an official publication of the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) and Deutscher Imkerbund E.V. (D.I.B.)For more precise information, please see the Instructions to authors.
The journal Applied Entomology and Zoology publishes articles concerned with applied entomology, applied zoology, agricultural chemicals and pest control. Coverage spans a wide range of fields, including molecular biology, environmental science, physiology, ecology, ethology, taxonomy and toxicology. The journal examines insect pests, animal pests, natural enemies, beneficial insects, beneficial animals, agricultural chemicals and more. Founded in 1966, Applied Entomology and Zoology is an official English-language publication of the Japanese Society of Applied Entomology and Zoology.
2009 Impact Factor - 0.311.Five Year Impact Factor - 0.340.169;2010 Thomson Reuters, 2009 Journal Citation Reports174;Aquatic Insects is an international journal publishing original research on both the systematics and the ecology of aquatic insects. Taxonomically, aquatic insects are a heterogeneous assemblage, comprising several orders which have evolved in aquatic habitats. Further, the bugs, beetles and flies each include many large families present only in aquatic habitats. In fact, almost every insect order has at least a few aquatic representatives. The shared habitat unifying the different groups of aquatic insects brings the journal into close contact with the field of limnology. In all kinds of freshwater environments, aquatic insects are usually the largest single group of organisms, by species as well as specimen numbers, and are of paramount importance to the community structure and function. Since a large number of aquatic insect species are ecological indicators, articles in this entomological journal are also of direct relevance to all students of aquatic ecosystems. The journal publishes original research on systematics and ecology of aquatic insects. Descriptions of individual species without general interest to an international readership are only accepted if space permits. Descriptions based on single specimens are discouraged. Purely faunistic studies and other papers of only regional interest are not considered. All published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees.ReadershipEntomologists, taxonomists, ecologists, limnologists, and fishery biologists.---Disclaimer for Scientific, Technical and Social Science PublicationsTaylor & Francis make every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 8220;Content8221;) contained in its publications.
