Many new instruments for observing astronomical objects at a variety of wavelengths have been and are continually being developed. Consequently, a vast amount of effort is being put into new data analysis techniques to cope with rivers of data collected by these instruments.
Experimental Astronomy is a medium for the publication of papers of contemporary scientific interest on astrophysical instrumentation and methods necessary for the conduct of astronomy at all wavelength fields.
Experimental Astronomy publishes full-length articles, research letters and reviews on developments in detection techniques, instruments, and data analysis and image processing techniques. Occasional special issues are published, giving an in-depth presentation of the instrumentation and/or analysis connected with specific projects, such as satellite experiments or ground-based telescopes, or of specialized techniques.Commonly used title abbreviations: Exp. The journal Facies presents papers dealing with the interpretation of ancient and modern biotopes and carbonate depositional environments by means of facies analysis in its broadest sense. Once the central part of research in hydrocarbon exploration, facies analysis integrates modern and ancient biogeological processes of a changing earth. Special emphasis is placed on paleobiology and -ecology, basin evolution, sedimentology including diagenesis and geochemistry, as well as studies emphasizing the impact of life on earth history.

Faraday Discussions covers a variety of topics in rapidly developing areas of the physical sciences, with a focus on physical chemistry and its interfaces with other scientific disciplines. The journal publishes the papers presented and a record of the questions, discussion and debate that took place at the corresponding Faraday Discussions meeting; and provides an important record of current international knowledge and opinions in the relevant field. Each Faraday Discussion covers a topic in a rapidly developing area of chemistry, and will be of interest to academic and industrial chemists across all areas of the chemical sciences. Fish and Fisheries adopts a broad, interdisciplinary approach to the subject of fish biology and fisheries. It draws contributions in the form of major synoptic papers and syntheses or meta-analyses that lay out new approaches, re-examine existing findings, methods or theory, and discuss papers and commentaries from diverse areas. Focal areas include fish palaeontology, molecular biology and ecology, genetics, biochemistry, physiology, ecology, behaviour, evolutionary studies, conservation, assessment, population dynamics, mathematical modelling, ecosystem analysis and the social, economic and policy aspects of fisheries where they are grounded in a scientific approach. A paper in Fish and Fisheries must draw upon all key elements of the existing literature on a topic, normally have a broad geographic and/or taxonomic scope, and provide general points which make it compelling to a wide range of readers whatever their geographical location. So, in short, we aim to publish articles that make syntheses of old or synoptic, long-term or spatially widespread data, introduce or consolidate fresh concepts or theory, or, in the Ghoti section, briefly justify preliminary, new synoptic ideas. Please note that authors of submissions not meeting this mandate will be directed to the appropriate primary literature.

The international journal of the Japanese Society for Fisheries Oceanography, Fisheries Oceanography is designed to present a forum for the exchange of information amongst fisheries scientists worldwide. Fisheries Oceanography.

Apart from regular papers, the journal also publishes book reviews and Forum discussion papers that raise important topics of broader interest. Occasionally, Special issues may be published on various topics in plant ecology, and plant systematics.

Fossils and Strata is an international monograph series of palaeontology and stratigraphy.

Mathematics concerned with geoscientific problems, i.e., Geomathematics, is becoming increasingly important, as first, modern high speed computers and satellite based techniques are entering more and more all geodisciplines and secondly a growing public concern about the future of our planet exists, its climate, its environment, and about an expected shortage of natural resources . Efficient strategies of protection against threats of a changing earth and the exceptional situation of getting terrestrial, airborne as well as spaceborne data of better and better quality explain the strong need of new mathematical structures, tools, and methods.GEM – The International Journal on Geomathematics publishes peer-reviewed mathematical papers that deal with (i) modelling of the system Earth (geosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, biosphere) (ii) analytic, algebraic, and operator-theoretic methods and (iii) computational and numerical analysis methods necessary for the mathematical treatment of geoscientifically relevant problems.
