According to the most recent ranking of impact factors (from June 2010) in Journal Citation Reports, the American Journal on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (formerly the American Journal on Mental Retardation) is ranked No. 2 in “Special Education” and No. 2 in “Rehabilitation.” The premier journal in its field for more than 115 years, AJIDD publishes expert contributions on the treatment and prevention of intellectual disabilities. The American Law and Economics Review is a refereed journal which maintains the highest scholarly standards and that is accessible to the full range of membership of the American Law and Economics Association, which includes practising lawyers, consultants, and academic lawyers and economists.

American Review of Canadian Studies (ARCS) is a refereed, multidisciplinary, quarterly journal. Published since 1971 by the Association for Canadian Studies in the United States (ACSUS), American Review of Canadian Studies examines Canada and the Canadian point of view from an American perspective. Its articles - both interdisciplinary and disciplinary -explore Canada's arts, cultures, economics, politics, history, and society, recognizing Canada's distinctive position in the world. Most issues also contain reviews of recently published books across that same broad spectrum of topics - reviews that acquaint readers with current scholarship in the field.The editors invite article submissions in any area of Canadian studies and are receptive to a wide range of methodologies; topical pieces and responses to articles published in previous issues will also be considered. The American Review of Public Administration (ARPA), peer-reviewed and published bi-monthly, is one of the elite scholarly journals in public administration and public affairs. ARPA focuses on public administration broadly defined, publishing scholarship on all aspects of the field, including such areas as organization and management studies, program and performance evaluation, and budgeting and financial management, network governance, public involvement and public service motivation. Although rooted in U.S. public administration, ARPA also carries research from international and comparative settings.

American Sociological Review (ASR), the ASAs flagship journal, was founded in 1936 with the mission to publish original works of interest to the discipline of sociology in general, new theoretical developments, results of research that advance understanding of fundamental social processes, and important methodological innovations. Peer-reviewed and published bi-monthly, all areas of sociology are welcome, with emphasis on exceptional quality and general interest.

The American Sociologist publishes papers, comments, and other writings on topics of professional and disciplinary concern to sociologists. The editors seem papers that examine the intellectual, practical, and ethical issues that affect the work, careers, and perspectives of sociologists. In addition, the editors especially encourage research and reporting on the ways in which sociological knowledge and skill relate to issues of broad public concern, past, present, and future. Topics might include: the uses of sociology in academic and nonacademic settings: the training, placement, and career paths of sociologist: structural and ideological dimensions that affect the development of new perspectives in the discipline: the ethics of research, teaching, and practice: the application of sociological knowledge and methods in practical problems, the historical and interdisciplinary roots of sociological knowledge: and the contribution of sociologists to professional and public issues.

American Speech is concerned principally with the English language in the Western Hemisphere, although articles dealing with English in other parts of the world, the influence of other languages by or on English, and linguistic theory are also published. The journal is not committed to any particular theoretical framework, and issues often contain contributions that appeal to a readership wider than the linguistic-studies community.

The American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education (AJPE) is the official publication of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). Its purpose is to document and advance pharmaceutical education in the United States and Internationally. The Journal considers material in all areas related to pharmaceutical education. Through open-access Internet publication the Journal intends to take full advantage of the electronic medium; this includes the publication of articles with multimedia features, encompassing 3D graphics, video, interactive figures and databases, and sound. The Journal Editor is Joseph T. DiPiro, Professor and Executive Dean at the South Carolina Colege of Pharmacy.The electronic Journal will be issued quarterly. In addition, a year-end print volume will be made available to AACP member institutions and to others upon request for a nominal fee. Access to the electronic Journal will not be restricted by password.
