Journal Guide

The Australasian Journal of Environmental Management is published four times a year (March, June, September and December) and addresses general issues of policy and practice in resource and environmental management. The focus is on Australian and New Zealand practice, but articles covering relevant international perspectives are welcome. One of the four regular issues may be devoted to a specific theme, for example a particular management problem or resource sector investigation. Emphasis will be on topicality. The journal aims to enhance communication and understanding across many areas of resource and environmental management, and so contribute to improving environmental practice.

Australian Archaeology, the official publication of the Australian Archaeological Association Inc., is a refereed journal published since 1974. It accepts original articles in all fields of archaeology and other subjects relevant to archaeological research and practice in Australia and nearby areas. Archaeology is defined broadly and covers the prehistoric, historic and contemporary periods in terms of research and cultural heritage management. Material relating to research in biological anthropology, social and cultural anthropology, history, Aboriginal studies, environmental science and other related areas is welcomed, particularly when it relates to current problems and issues in Australian archaeology. Australian Archaeology is published three times a year now with relevant months.

The Australian Educational Researcher (AER) promotes understanding of educational issues through publication of original research and scholarly essays. The journal includes contributions from local and international researchers, representing a variety of relevant disciplinary perspectives.AER provides a forum for education researchers to debate current problems and issues.Contents include book reviews, scholarly essays, original quantitative and qualitative research and papers that are methodologically or theoretically innovative.AER welcomes contributions from a variety of disciplinary perspectives on any level of education.Special Issue ProposalsAustralian Educational ResearcherThe AER will publish occasional special issues to a maximum one per annum. It is expected that the guest editor(s) of the special issue submit a proposal to the Managing Editor who will then send it out to review to the Editorial Board.  The criteria upon which it will be judged are whether the issue addresses contemporary concerns

View a list of the latest free articles available from Australian GeographerWhile papers concerning any aspect of geography are considered for publication, The Australian Geographer focuses primarily on two areas of research: Australia and its region, including developments, issues and policies in Australia, the western Pacific, the Indian Ocean, Asia and Antarctica. Environmental studies, particularly the biophysical environment and human interaction with it. Papers dealing with international issues, or with nations other than Australia and those within its region, must have an Australian, Asian or Pacific perspective or deal with implications for Australia or its neighbours. Papers addressing theoretical and philosophical issues in geography are also sought. Preference will be given to papers which have a broad appeal to geographers, geography educators and people in cognate areas including Australian studies and environmental studies. The Australian Journal of Education was established in 1957 under the editorship of Professor Bill Connell. Drawing upon research conducted in Australia and internationally, the AJE aims to inform educational researchers as well as educators, administrators and policymakers about issues of contemporary concern in education. The AJE seeks to publish research studies that contribute to educational knowledge and research methodologies, and that review findings of research studies. Its scope embraces all fields of education and training. In addition to publishing research studies about education it also publishes articles that address education in relation to other fields. Articles submitted are subject to full peer review by a panel of experts including members of the Editorial Board of the AJE.

The Australian Journal of French Studies is an international, fully refereed journal devoted to French literature, culture, society and history. The journal encourages new theoretical engagements and particularly welcomes interdisciplinary approaches. Articles are published in English and French. The majority of numbers are focussed on a specific theme, but numbers on miscellaneous topics will usually be published annually.
