Acta Borealia is a multi-disciplinary scientific journal for cultural studies. The journal presents results from basic research on northern societies, including reviews of new books about the north. The contributing authors are mainly from the Nordic countries, but also from other countries performing research on circumpolar societies. The journal publishes articles in such disciplines as history, archaeology, social anthropology, ethnography, geography and linguistics.Acta Borealia is edited by a group of scholars at the University of Troms , and is the only journal dedicated exclusively to a multidisciplinary, comparative focus on circumpolar societies.Topics of primary concern areethnic relations settlement patterns and developments economy political, cultural and social phenomena from prehistoric times to the recent past.Articles and book reviews are published in English.

African Identities provides a critical forum for the examination of African and diasporic expressions, representations and identities. The aim of this journal is to open up various horizons in the field: to encourage the development of theory and practice in a wider spread of disciplinary approaches; to promote conceptual innovation and to provide a venue for the entry of new perspectives. The journal focuses on the myriad of ways in which cultural production creates zones of profound expressive possibilities by continually generating texts and contexts of reflexive import.With an emphasis on gender, class, nation, marginalisation, "otherness" and difference, the journal explores how African identities, either by force of expediency or contingency, create layered terrains of (ex)change, decentre dominant meanings, paradigms and certainties. This is the first academic journal that directly addresses the needs of scholars working in the important field of African Diaspora studies. It advances the analytical and interrogative discourses that constitute this distinctive interdisciplinary study of the deterritorialised and transnational nature of the African and Black Diaspora.Beyond essentialist modes of theorizing, the journal locates the movement of African descended populations (geographical, cultural, social, political and psychological) in the context of globalized and transnational spaces by emphasizing the centrality of African and Black Diaspora.The journal publishes research articles, commentaries and book reviews. The American Journal of Physical Anthropology (AJPA) is the official journal of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists. The Journal is published monthly in three quarterly volumes. In addition, two supplements appear on an annual basis, the Yearbook of Physical Anthropology, which publishes major review articles, and the Annual Meeting Issue, containing the Scientific Program of the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists and abstracts of posters and podium presentations. The Yearbook of Physical Anthropology has its own editor, appointed by the Association, and is handled independently of the AJPA. As measured by impact factor, the AJPA is among the top journals listed in the anthropology category by the Social Science Citation Index. The reputation of the AJPA as the leading publication in physical anthropology is built on its nearly century-long record of publishing high quality scientific articles in a wide range of topics. The Editor-in-Chief welcomes for consideration manuscripts that contribute to an understanding of the evolution of members of the order Primates, with particular emphasis on human biological evolution and variation. Within this framework, the AJPA publishes in established areas, including human biology and non-human primate behavior, and also seeks submissions in new and developing fronts that contribute to the growth of the science and increased understanding of human and non-human primate evolution. The AJPA publishes scientific articles without page charges, as well as invited commentaries, book reviews, and short communications dealing mostly with methodological and technical issues. Manuscripts submitted elsewhere will not be considered for publication. The Editor-in-Chief seeks input on cover design from the AJPA readership. Authors are encouraged to submit illustrative materials for inclusion on the cover. Research manuscripts should be sent to the Office of the Editor-in-Chief. Invited book reviews should be sent to the Associate Editor for Book Reviews. The Office of the Editor-in-Chief is located at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. The AJPA is a peer-reviewed scientific publication. The Editor-in-Chief works with the assistance of Associate Editors appointed by the Executive Committee of the Association, and seeks advice of reviewers recommended by the Associate Editors. The review process is anonymous.

The American Journal of Human Biology is the Official Journal of the Human Biology Association. The American Journal of Human Biology is a bimonthly, peer-reviewed, internationally circulated journal that publishes reports of original research, theoretical articles and timely reviews, and brief communications in the interdisciplinary field of human biology. As the official journal of the Human Biology Association, the Journal also publishes abstracts of research presented at its annual scientific meeting and book reviews relevant to the field. The Journal seeks scholarly manuscripts that address all aspects of human biology, health, and disease, particularly those that stress comparative, developmental, ecological, or evolutionary perspectives. The transdisciplinary areas covered in the Journal include, but are not limited to, epidemiology, genetic variation, population biology and demography, physiology, anatomy, nutrition, growth and aging, physical performance, physical activity and fitness, ecology, and evolution, along with their interactions. The Journal publishes basic, applied, and methodologically oriented research from all areas, including measurement, analytical techniques and strategies, and computer applications in human biology. Like many other biologically oriented disciplines, the field of human biology has undergone considerable growth and diversification in recent years, and the expansion of the aims and scope of the Journal is a reflection of this growth and membership diversification. The Journal is committed to prompt review, and priority publication is given to manuscripts with novel or timely findings, and to manuscripts of unusual interest.
