The Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication (JCMC) is a web-based, peer-reviewed scholarly journal. Its focus is social science research on computer-mediated communication via the Internet, the World Wide Web, and wireless technologies. Within that general purview, the journal is broadly interdisciplinary, publishing work by scholars in communication, business, education, political science, sociology, media studies, information science, and other disciplines. Acceptable formats for submission include original research articles, meta-analyses of prior research, synthesizing literature surveys, and proposals for special issues. JCMC is available online only. JCMC is one of the oldest web-based Internet studies journals in existence, having been published quarterly continuously since June 1995. The journal was started by Margaret McLaughlin and Sheizaf Rafaeli in response to the growth of CMC scholarship in the early- to mid-1990s. The founding editors had the vision to make JCMC an open-access, online journal. This, combined with high quality standards, proved to be a recipe for success: today JCMC is widely read and cited by CMC scholars around the world. By presenting such work, JERHRE aims to improve ethical problem solving in human research and provide an ongoing basis for the establishment of best practice guidelines. In addition, JERHRE seeks to create collaboration among institutions and researchers concerned about the responsible conduct of research by disseminating knowledge and information to foster the intelligent application of ethical principles in research contexts worldwide. Journal of Family Communication (JFC) publishes original empirical and theoretical papers that advance our understanding of the communication processes within or about families. JFC is also committed to publishing manuscripts that address issues related to the intersection between families, communication, and social systems, such as mass media, education, health care, and law & policy. JFC is topically and methodologically inclusive, publishing research that is quantitative, qualitative, rhetorical, and critical. The editorial decision and reviews are then shared with the novice reviewer, providing the trainee the opportunity to see how his/her review compared to those of others. If the reviews are strong, constructive, and prompt, then the reviewers-in-training will become part of the ad-hoc review pool after the three review, 18-month probationary period. JICR publishes qualitative and quantitative research that focuses on interrelationships between culture and communication. Generally, research published in JICR emphasizes non-mediated contexts.Submitted manuscripts may report results from either cross-cultural comparative research or results from other types of research concerning the ways culture affects human symbolic activities. Scope:

  • JOMBS seeks empirical studies that contribute to the theoretical advancement of the field of media business studies, inspired, among others, by the business disciplines of advertising, communications, consumer behavior, economics, entrepreneurship, management, marketing, organizational behavior, organization studies and strategy;
  • JOMBS accepts contributions from all methodological traditions, quantitative (experiments, surveys, modelling, etc.) or qualitative (ethnographies, interviews, case studies, etc.);
  • JOMBS seeks rigor and thorough reporting in research design, measurement, sampling and statistical or qualitative analysis;
  • JOMBS solicits papers with practical relevance for media industry practitioners, policy makers, consumers and other stakeholders in society.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the one of the journal editors. If the manuscript is found suitable for further consideration, it is subsequently reviewed by independent, anonymous expert referees. All reviews are double-blinded.
