Aquatic Biology (AB) serves as a worldwide forum for research on all aspects of the biology of organisms living in marine, brackish or fresh waters. It complements the material that appears in Marine Ecology Progress Series (MEPS) and Aquatic Microbial Ecology (AME). Multidisciplinary and international, AB will be developed and tailored to reflect the evolving needs of the scientific community it serves.
Aquatic Biosystems is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal considering high quality manuscripts on all aspects of basic and applied research on aquatic organisms and environments.The scope of Aquatic Biosystems ranges from the molecular and organism levels to global systems and processes. The journal encourages reports on a wide array of environments, including lakes, rivers, marshes, springs, lagoons, solar pans, estuaries, and the open ocean, and their micro- and macro-flora and fauna. Aquatic Botany is concerned with fundamental studies on structure, function, dynamics and classification of plant-dominated aquatic communities and ecosystems, as well as molecular, biochemical and physiological aspects of aquatic plants. Aquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems is an international journal dedicated to publishing original papers that relate specifically to freshwater, brackish or marine habitats and encouraging work that spans these ecosystems. This journal provides a forum in which all aspects of the conservation of aquatic biological resources can be presented and discussed, enabling greater cooperation and efficiency in solving problems in aquatic resource conservation. Aquatic Ecology publishes timely, peer-reviewed original papers relating to the ecology of fresh, brackish, estuarine and marine environments. Aquatic Geochemistry provides a medium for the publication of original studies broadly relating to the geochemistry of natural waters and their interactions with rocks and minerals under relatively near Earth-surface conditions. Coverage includes theoretical, experimental, and modeling papers dealing with this subject area, as well as papers presenting observations of natural systems that stress major processes. Taxonomically, aquatic insects are a heterogeneous assemblage, comprising several orders which have evolved in aquatic habitats. Aquatic Invasions is an open access, peer-reviewed international journal focusing on biological invasions in both inland and coastal water ecosystems from around the world. It was established in 2006 as initiative of the International Society of Limnology (SIL) Working Group on Aquatic Invasive Species (WGAIS) with start-up funding from the European Commission Sixth Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development Integrated Project ALARM.
