The journal was published quarterly from 1985 (vol. 1) to 2000 (vol. 16) and bimonthly from 2001 (vol. 17) to 2005 (vol. 21). Cadernos has been published monthly since 2006.The abbreviated title is Cad. Saúde Pública, which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references, citations, and bibliographic legends. .
