Chemistry and Ecology publishes original papers, short communications and occasional review articles on the relationship between chemistry and ecological processes. The journal will reflect the fact that chemical form and state, as well as other basic properties, are critical in their influence on biological systems and that understanding of the routes and dynamics of the transfer of materials through atmospheric, terrestrial and aquatic systems, and the associated effects, calls for an integrated treatment. Chemistry and Ecology will help to promote the ecological assessment of changing chemical environment and in the development of a better understanding of ecological functions.Chemistry and Ecology encourages multi-disciplinary approaches dealing with: Environmental pollution: distribution, fate and ecological implications of pollutants including nutrients and key elements, in the atmospheric, soil and aquatic environments. Ecotoxicology: responses to toxic agents at community, species, tissue, cellular and sub-cellular level, including aspects of uptake, metabolism and excretion of toxicants. Environmental bioremediation and biotechnology: laboratory and field research on the identification, evaluation and use of biological/biotechnological items and supporting physical treatments for the restoration of contaminated soil and aquatic environments; laboratory and field research on microbial, plant or animal fouling and its monitoring and their treatment; Biogeochemical cycles: biogeochemical cycles in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems with special emphasis on the potential effects of pollutants. Chemistry and Physics of Lipids publishes research papers and review articles on chemical and physical aspects of lipids with primary emphasis on the relationship of these properties to biological functions and to biomedical applications.Accordingly, the journal covers: advances in synthetic and analytical lipid methodology; mass-spectrometry of lipids; chemical and physical characterisation of isolated structures; thermodynamics, phase behaviour, topology and dynamics of lipid assemblies; physicochemical studies into lipid-lipid and lipid-protein interactions in lipoproteins and in natural and model membranes; movement of lipids within, across and between membranes; intracellular lipid transfer; structure-function relationships and the nature of lipid-derived second messengers; chemical, physical and functional alterations of lipids induced by free radicals; enzymatic and non-enzymatic mechanisms of lipid peroxidation in cells, tissues, biofluids; oxidative lipidomics; and the role of lipids in the regulation of membrane-dependent biological processes.Reviews, full articles and short communications will be considered for publication in each issue. Special Issues will consist of invited contributions organized and edited to cover specific themes.

Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils publishes reports on improvements in the processing of petroleum and natural gas and cracking and refining techniques for the production of high-quality fuels, oils, greases, specialty fluids, additives and synthetics. The journal includes timely articles on the demulsification, desalting, and desulfurizing of crude oil; new flow plans for refineries; platforming, isomerization, catalytic reforming, and alkylation processes for obtaining aromatic hydrocarbons and high-octane gasoline; methods of producing ethylene, acetylene, benzene, acids, alcohols, esters, and other compounds from petroleum, as well as hydrogen from natural gas and liquid products. Archiv der Pharmazie - Chemistry in Life Sciences is an international journal devoted to research and development in all fields of pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry. Emphasis is put on papers combining synthetic organic chemistry, structural biology, molecular modelling, bioorganic chemistry, natural products chemistry, biochemistry or analytical methods with pharmaceutical or medicinal aspects such as biological activity. The focus of this journal is put on original research papers, but other scientifically valuable contributions (e.g. reviews, minireviews, highlights, symposia contributions, discussions, and essays) are also welcome. Chemistry of Materials is a biweekly hybrid journal devoted to the publication of original contributions on forefront, fundamental research at the interface of chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science. Both theoretical and experimental studies which focus on preparation or understanding of materials with unusual or useful properties are relevant. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Solid-state chemistry, organic, inorganic and polymer chemistry directed to developing materials with novel optical, electrical, magnetic, catalytic, and mechanical properties, among others

Chemistry of Natural Compounds publishes reviews and general articles about the structure of different classes of natural compounds, the chemical characteristics of botanical families, genus, and species, to establish the comparative laws and connection between physiological activity and the structure of substances. Chemistry of Natural Compounds is a translation of the peer-reviewed Russian language journal Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii. The Russian Volume Year is published in English from April.

ChemistrySelect is the latest journal from ChemPubSoc Europe, an organization of 16 continental European chemical societies, and complements the existing titles published in collaboration with Wiley-VCH. The steady increase in submissions to the top titles is forcing them to become increasingly selective, and as such, often good research articles are failing to find a home within the ChemPubSoc Europe family of journals.
