Inland Water Biology is the only journal covering fundamental research into all trophic levels of aquatic organisms: from viruses to fishes and aquatic mammals. These results are useful in comparative analysis of ecosystem function in different Earth regions. Contents include the appearance and development of a biota in newly created manmade water reservoirs; the impact of zoogenic factors on the structure and functioning of aquatic ecosystems; and the role of small rivers in forming hydrobiological characteristics of recipient water reservoirs, and faunogenesis. Inland Water Biology benefits researchers studying all life forms in lakes, dam ponds and reservoirs, ponds, inner seas and rivers. It will also interest environmental officials and regulators, and graduate and post-graduate students in biology, ecology and geography. The journal partners with academics conducting research in its topical areas, and managers designing and supervising protection and rational use of water resources.

International Journal of Limnology (IJL) publishes original articles and reviews on all aspects dealing with the physical or chemical properties, biology and ecology of freshwater and brackish systems. Manuscripts can be proposed about studies performed either in the laboratory or at field. Said differently, IJL aims at providing a unique media for topics addressing inland water environments (physics, chemistry, biogeochemistry, biology, ecology), from both fundamental and functional aspects to applications and management issues. IJL promotes rapid peer-review and rapid publication. In 2020, time from submission to first decision was 1-2 weeks and time from acceptance to online publication was 4 weeks. The Journal of Applied Aquaculture is a platform for the sharing of practical information needed by researchers to meet the needs of investors, farm managers, extension agents and policy makers working to adapt aquaculture theory to achieve economic and food security objectives in the real world. The journal emphasizes multi-disciplinary research and case studies that propose financially and logistically viable solutions to observable problems. To make it more accessible to farmers and non-specialists in addition to professional aquaculture researchers, authors publishing in the Journal of Applied Aquaculture are requested to avoid basic research that has only downstream or marginal applicability to actual farming systems. The Journal of Applied Ichthyology publishes articles of international repute on ichthyology, aquaculture, and marine fisheries; ichthyopathology and ichthyoimmunology; environmental toxicology using fishes as test organisms; basic research on fishery management; and aspects of integrated coastal zone management in relation to fisheries and aquaculture. Emphasis is placed on the application of scientific research findings, while special consideration is given to ichthyological problems occurring in developing countries. Article formats include original articles, review articles, short communications, technical reports and book reviews. Fields of interest: All aspects of applied fisheries research and aquaculture, development and management of fisheries resources, ecotoxicology, fisheries ecology, fish health and pathology, genetics and coastal zone interactions with fisheries, fisheries in developing countries. The merger with AFMR broadens the scope to include basic science aspects in marine and freshwaters resource research, and ecological and economic scenarios that determine the success or failure of any application of biological research.
