Critical Reviews in Plant Sciences focuses on presenting in-depth and up-to-date reviews of timely subjects in the broad discipline of plant science, ranging from molecular biology/biochemistry through the areas of cell biology, plant physiology, genetics, classical botany, and ecology, to practical agricultural applications. An Editorial Advisory Board with widely diverse interests and expertise identifies topic areas and suggests authors who are known contributors in those areas to prepare thorough critical reviews. Contributors survey and synthesize the most significant papers in the recent and current literature and present an evaluation of research and advances in the topic area, as well as identify major problems and prospects for the future. Crop & Pasture Science (continuing Australian Journal of Agricultural Research) is an international journal publishing outcomes of strategic research in crop and pasture sciences and the sustainability of farming systems. The primary focus is broad-scale cereals, grain legumes, oilseeds and pastures. Papers are encouraged that advance understanding in plant-based agricultural systems through the use of well-defined and original aims designed to test a hypothesis, innovative and rigorous experimental design, and strong interpretation. The journal embraces experimental approaches from molecular level to whole systems, and the research must present novel findings and progress the science of agriculture.Crop & Pasture Science is read by agricultural scientists and plant biologists, industry, administrators, policy-makers, and others with an interest in the challenges and opportunities facing world agricultural production. To facilitate accessibility and clarity, research papers should address a clearly enunciated hypothesis, and the Abstract should define the novel outcomes.Specific areas of interest include:* Centres of origin and diversity of crop and pasture species and associating these centres with traits of agronomic interest, including quality and disease resistance*Plant genetic improvement using molecular or traditional approaches. Papers which map QTLs for metric traits and which can validate the utility of the markers in breeding will be particularly relevant. Genetic maps are not published unless they incorporate traits of agronomic value or concern comparative mapping among species of agricultural relevance* Transgenic research should show a direct relevance to agriculture. Papers demonstrating improvement for traits not readily amenable to traditional breeding are important* Genotype X environment research and innovative statistical approaches to understanding G X E*Plant soil relations* Plant water relations* Crop and pasture agronomy research, the findings of which advance the science of agriculture* Plant pathology and entomology which increase our understanding of the biology of the interaction and lead to improved management. Research on the genetics of host parasite interactions is relevant* Novel cropping options and systems to improve productivity and which attempt to present the findings in a broad context* Integrated land and water resources management in agricultural systems* Impacts of changing climate on crops, pastures and agricultural systems.

The Current Opinion journals were developed out of the recognition that it is increasingly difficult for specialists to keep up to date with the expanding volume of information published in their subject. In Current Opinion in Plant Biology, we help the reader by providing in a systematic manner:1. The views of experts on current advances in plant biology in a clear and readable form. 2. Evaluations of the most interesting papers, annotated by experts, from the great wealth of original publications.Division of the subject into sections: The subject of plant biology is divided into themed sections which are reviewed regularly to keep them relevant. Presently they are:Growth and development - Genome studies and molecular genetics (+ Plant biotechnology every other year) - Physiology and metabolism - Biotic interactions - Cell signalling and gene regulation - Cell biologySelection of topics to be reviewed:Section Editors, who are major authorities in the field, are appointed by the Editors of the journal. They divide their section into a number of topics, ensuring that the field is comprehensively covered and that all issues of current importance are emphasised. Section Editors commission reviews from authorities on each topic that they have selected.Reviews: Authors write short review articles in which they present recent developments in their subject, emphasising the aspects that, in their opinion, are most important. In addition, they provide short annotations to the papers that they consider to be most interesting from all those published in their topic over the previous year.Editorial Overview: Section Editors write a short overview at the beginning of the section to introduce the reviews and to draw the reader's attention to any particularly interesting developments.Ethics in Publishing - General Statement: The Editor(s) and Publisher of this Journal believe that there are fundamental principles underlying scholarly or professional publishing. While this may not amount to a formal 'code of conduct', these fundamental principles with respect to the authors' paper are that the paper should: i) be the authors' own original work, which has not been previously published elsewhere, ii) reflect the authors' own research and analysis and do so in a truthful and complete manner, iii) properly credit the meaningful contributions of co-authors and co-researchers, iv) not be submitted to more than one journal for consideration, and v) be appropriately placed in the context of prior and existing research. Of equal importance are ethical guidelines dealing with research methods and research funding, including issues dealing with informed consent, research subject privacy rights, conflicts of interest, and sources of funding. While it may not be possible to draft a 'code' that applies adequately to all instances and circumstances, we believe it useful to outline our expectations of authors and procedures that the Journal will employ in the event of questions concerning author conduct. With respect to conflicts of interest, the Publisher now requires authors to declare any conflicts of interest that relate to papers accepted for publication in this Journal. A conflict of interest may exist when an author or the author's institution has a financial or other relationship with other people or organizations that may inappropriately influence the author's work. A conflict can be actual or potential and full disclosure to the Journal is the safest course. All submissions to the Journal must include disclosure of all relationships that could be viewed as presenting a potential conflict of interest. The Journal may use such information as a basis for editorial decisions and may publish such disclosures if they are believed to be important to readers in judging the manuscript. A decision may be made by the Journal not to publish on the basis of the declared conflict.

Fundamental plant sciences is increasingly becoming a collaborative domain, with projects for example including physics, mathematics and chemistry. This is largely fuelled by the last decade's many technical advances, allowing for more discoveries but also creating new challenges, such as data storage, analysis and predictions. Interdisciplinary collaborations are often the solution to these challenges.

This journal aims to acknowledge and encourage interdisciplinary research in fundamental plant sciences. It will publish original research papers and method papers in plant research fields such as systems biology, cell biology, genetics, epigenetics, mathematical modeling, omics, signal transduction, plant-microbe interactions, synthetic biology, developmental biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics research, and big data in plant biology. High-quality review articles are also welcome.

To further encourage collaboration in the community, all accepted authors of Research articles are required to make their data accessible to the public. This will avoid duplicate projects and speed up the progress of science. The journal will actively link and cooperate with some of these databases, as well as with computational infrastructure. Data should always be submitted in raw data format, and should be submitted preferentially in publicly accessible resources maintained by for example EBI, EMBL, or NCBI data. For datatypes for which no such repositories exist, data should be made available through the supplementary information or the authors own website. The editorial and publishing team of the journal is dedicated to being efficient in the manuscript handling. The journal uses a double-blinded peer review, to avoid bias in the review process. The resulting publications will be open access.

Darwiniana is a half-yearly botanic publication of the Instituto de Botánica Darwinion, (CONICET-ANCEFN). Its mission is to publish original scientific papers and reviews from different areas of plant science with the exception of those which are agronomical or applied botanical research (of direct transfer). Main articles are usually included in the following sections: Archeobotany and Ethnobotany, Reproductive biology, Ecology and Phytogeography, Structure and Development, Genetics, Systematics and Taxonomy of Nonvascular Plants, and Systematics and Taxonomy of Vascular Plants. The Editorial Board may publish book reviews, obituaries, communications to the subscribers, and the instructions to authors in the section "Miscellany".The editing process includes 4 main succesive steps: 1) a preliminary evaluation of the article; 2) a peer review made by two or three independent reviewers not belonging to the Darwiniana Editorial Board; 3) the style corrections; and 4) correction of print proofs. .

Dendrochronologia is an international scholarly journal in tree-ring research. It publishes high-quality original research dealing with growth rings of woody plants and the application of tree-ring studies to problems in a wide variety of fields including, but not limited to, archaeology, botany, climatology, ecology, forestry, geology and hydrology. Original research articles, reviews, communications, technical notes and personal notes are considered for publication.

As the official publication of the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization, the EPPO Bulletin publishes research findings on all aspects of plant protection, but particularly those of immediate concern to government plant protection services. Papers are published in English and French, with summaries also in Russian.

Economic Botany is a quarterly journal published by The New York Botanical Garden for the Society for Economic Botany. Interdisciplinary in scope, Economic Botany bridges the gap between pure and applied botany by focusing on the uses of plants by people. The foremost publication of its kind in this field, Economic Botany documents the rich relationship between plants and people around the world, encompassing the past, present, and potential uses of plants. Each issue contains original research articles, review articles, book reviews, annotated bibliographies, and notes on economic plants.

Edinburgh Journal of Botany is an international journal of plant systematics covering related aspects of biodiversity, conservation science and phytogeography for plants and fungi. The journal is a particularly valued forum for research on South East and South West Asian, Sino-Himalayan and Brazilian biodiversity. The journal also publishes important work on European, Central American and African biodiversity and encourages submissions from throughout the world. Commissioned book reviews are also included. All papers are peer reviewed and an international editorial board provides a body of expertise to reflect the wide range of work published and the geographical spread of the journal’s authors and readers.
