Clays and Clay Minerals is the official publication of THE CLAY MINERALS SOCIETY. The JOURNAL publishes articles of interest to the international community of clay scientists, including but not limited to areas in mineralogy, crystallography, geology, geochemistry, sedimentology, soil science, agronomy, physical chemistry, colloid chemistry, ceramics, petroleum engineering, foundry engineering, and soil mechanics. Clays and Clay Minerals exists to disseminate to its worldwide readership the most recent developments in all of these aspects of clay materials. Manuscripts are welcome from all countries.

Environmental Science: Advances caters to all disciplines working towards environmental sustainability, publishing research that enhances our comprehension of the environment and proposes solutions for a cleaner, safer and more equitable world. Environmental Science: Advances invites fundamental research, modelling, fieldwork, applied studies and policy work from across the environmental sciences. The journal welcomes research from any environmental or sustainability field, including biosciences, engineering, ecology, hydrology, soil science, geoscience, atmospheric science, agricultural science and climate science. Studies that advance our understanding of the physical environment, environmental health and environmental sustainability, or provide solutions to challenges in these areas are particularly welcome, as are studies falling at the environmental and social science interface. Manuscripts will be judged on their quality, interest and potential impact to ensure the publication of novel and significant contributions.

Environmental Science: Nano is a comprehensive, high-impact source of peer-reviewed information on the design and demonstration of engineered nanomaterials for environment-based applications and on the interactions of engineered, natural, and incidental nanomaterials with biological and environmental systems. This scope includes, but is not limited to, the following topic areas: • Novel nanomaterial-based applications for water, air, soil, food, and energy sustainability • Nanomaterial interactions with biological systems and nanotoxicology • Environmental fate, reactivity, and transformations of nanoscale materials • Nanoscale processes in the environment • Sustainable nanotechnology including rational nanomaterial design, life cycle assessment, risk/benefit analysis

Environmental Science: Processes & Impacts publishes high quality papers in all areas of the environmental chemical sciences, including chemistry of the air, water, soil and sediment. We welcome studies on the environmental fate and effects of anthropogenic and naturally occurring contaminants, both chemical and microbiological, as well as related natural element cycling processes. Environmental Science: Processes & Impacts strongly prefers significant contributions whose results can be generalised to other systems, especially studies that characterise chemical processes (e.g. chemical and (micro)biological transformations and transport) as well as those that address contaminant impacts on ecosystems and human health. We also welcome high impact field studies, particularly those that are broad enough to define occurrence baselines or long term trends, identify new contaminants, or those that enrich our molecular-level understanding of environmental systems. Environmental Science: Processes & Impacts also invites papers that bridge between environmental chemistry and sustainability topics, such as life cycle assessment, materials flow analysis, and environmental decision making.

Environmental Science: Water Research & Technology seeks to showcase high quality research about fundamental science, innovative technologies, and management practices that promote sustainable water. The journal aims to provide a comprehensive and relevant forum that unites the diverse communities and disciplines conducting water research relevant to engineered systems and the built environment. This includes fundamental science geared toward understanding physical, chemical, and biological phenomena in these systems as well as applied research focused on the development and optimisation of engineered treatment, management, and supply strategies. Papers must report a significant advance in the theory, fundamental understanding, practice or application of water research, management, engineering or technology.

The journal represents a platform for disseminating the fundamental scientific evidence for environmental protection and sustainable development. The journal will bring together excellent natural sciences, which underpin the understanding, development and application of technologies, to deliver a sustainable future. Dissemination of the fundamental science, methodologies, tools and techniques, in addition to the policy and governance landscape around the topic of sustainable future, are the focus of this publication. It brings together the need to consider the science and technology for environmental benefits including the development of both smarter, cleaner technologies for environmental protection, more efficient processing methods for resource use efficiency and critically, the environmental evidence for their uptake and success.

The journal publishes original papers on global and regional theoretical and experimental studies on the problems of the genesis, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, fertility, management, conservation, and remediation of soils. Special sections are devoted to current news in the life of the International and Russian soil science societies and to the history of soil science.

The European Journal of Agronomy, the official journal of the European Society for Agronomy, publishes original research papers reporting experimental and theoretical contributions to crop science in the following fields:• Crop physiology• Crop production and management• Agroclimatology and modelling• Plant-soil relationships• Crop quality and post-harvest physiology• Farming and cropping systems• Agroecosystems and the environmentIn determining the suitability of submitted articles for publication, particular scrutiny will be placed on the degree of novelty and significance of the research and the extent to which it adds to existing knowledge in agronomy. Confirmatory research and results from routine cultivar or agronomy trials will not normally be considered for publication. Review articles are normally written on invitation from the Editor-in-Chief. Authors intending to prepare review papers for the Journal are advised to consult the Editor-in-Chief before writing their reviews.

The European Journal of Soil Biology covers all aspects of soil biology which deal with microbial and faunal ecology and activity in soils, as well as natural ecosystems or biomes connected to ecological interests: biodiversity, biological conservation, adaptation, impact of global changes on soil biodiversity and ecosystem functioning and effects and fate of pollutants as influenced by soil organisms. Different levels in ecosystem structure are taken into account: individuals, populations, communities and ecosystems themselves. Our understanding of soil continues to advance. Better instruments and new techniques allow us to penetrate its structure and monitor its behaviour. Developments in statistical theory backed by sound programming and more powerful computers are leading to more effective survey and spatial prediction. Long-term experiments continue to provide new insight into the soil's response to management. The knowledge and understanding gained are essential for managing land without its deteriorating, and for protecting and restoring it. They should also underlie sound policies in land use regionally and nationally. The European Journal of Soil Science, as one of the premier journals in the field, fosters that understanding by publishing the latest significant findings of research, the description of new techniques, and up-to-date authoritative and critical reviews over the whole field of soil science and its applications. European Journal of Soil Science welcomes contributions from all countries, and its editorial board has members in four continents.

Field Crops Researchis an international journal publishing scientific articles on both experimental and modelling research at the field, farm and landscape level on temperate and tropical crops and cropping systems, with a focus on crop ecology and physiology, agronomy, and plant genetics and breeding. Articles on plant genetics and breeding need to be integrated with crop ecology and physiology, and/or agronomy. An economic analysis may be included if appropriate.

Papers must demonstrate new scientific insight, original technologies or novel methods that have general application and relevance to field crops. Research findings of a purely corroborative nature, descriptive or of only local significance will not be considered.

The journal's focus is major field crops for food and feed. This focus includes species used for cultivated pastures, but excludes natural grasslands. Other species, including important biofuel crops, could be considered if they contribute to the basic understanding of processes related to development, growth and yield of field crops. Horticultural (i.e., vegetable and fruit species), woody perennial, medicinal and non-cultivated species are outside the scope of the journal.

Field experiments on which manuscripts are based should, unless exceptional circumstances apply, include at least two seasons and/or multiple locations/environments. The inclusion of yield data is highly encouraged to demonstrate how the field experiments contribute to a better understanding of the bio-physical processes related to crop growth. Papers on crop protection (diseases, pests, weeds) can be accepted provided they have a strong focus on crop processes, including consequences for yield. Experiments under controlled conditions (glasshouse, growth chamber) are only acceptable as complementary to field work; studies carried-out exclusively under controlled conditions are outside the scope of the journal. Papers on remote sensing will only be considered if their focus is the use of these techniques to understand crop processes and their links to crop yield. Articles on crop storage, transportation and usage, and social studies on crops and cropping systems, are outside the scope of the journal.
