Journal of Osteoporosis is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles, review articles, and clinical studies in all areas of osteoporosis.

The aim of JPEM is to diffuse speedily new medical information by publishing clinical investigations in pediatric endocrinology and basic research with relevance to clinical pediatric endocrinology and metabolism from all over the world. JPEM is the only international journal dedicated exclusively to endocrinology in the neonatal, pediatric and adolescent age groups. JPEM is a high quality journal dedicated to pediatric endocrinology in its broadest sense, which is needed at this time of rapid expansion of the field of endocrinology. JPEM includes the following sections: reviews, original research, patient reports, short communications, letters to the editor (including comments on published papers), book reviews, meetings calendar, noticeboard for pediatric societies. JPEM publishes supplements of proceedings and abstracts of pediatric endocrinology and diabetes society meetings.

The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is devoted to new experimental and theoretical developments in areas related to steroids. The Journal publishes a variety of contributions, including original articles, general and focused reviews, and rapid communications (brief articles of particular interest and clear novelty). Selected cutting-edge topics will be addressed in Special Issues managed by Guest Editors. Special Issues will contain both commissioned reviews and invited original research to provide comprehensive coverage of specific topics, and all articles will undergo rigorous peer-review prior to publication. The JSBMB publishes experimental work, review articles and letters (commentaries).Manuscripts relating to unsolved issues in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology, steroid chemistry, cell biology, molecular medicine, and clinical medicine, are encouraged. Both basic and clinical areas of research are within the scope of the Journal, provided they address mechanisms or yield a functional explanation of processes involving steroids. A further aim of the Journal is to provide steroid-related tools, synthesis and analysis methods, and reference data.Contributions on case studies or descriptions of new compounds should provide new functional data. Otherwise they will be not considered. Reports on translational research are encouraged.The aims of the Journal cover studies on steroid signal transduction pathways, functional annotation of genes and kinetics of metabolic pathways, as well as the creation of enduring and validated resources for metabolomics and systems biology analyses. Furthermore, the Journal also publishes results on lipid research, functional association studies or 'omics' that are instrumental in our understanding of common complex human diseases like metabolic syndrome, diabetes or obesity. Further aspects like steroid-related cancers or neurosteroids are within the scope of the Journal. The Journal aims to enhance our understanding, and the development of approaches to study, the interplay between the environment, genomes, metabolism and disease.Studies that are based on observations performed in a single cell line will not generally be viewed favourably for publication. Journal of Thyroid Research is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles, review articles, and clinical studies in all areas of thyroid research.

Lipids in Health and Disease is ready to receive manuscripts on all aspects of lipids in health and disease.

In recent years the Mediterranean has emerged not only as a region of intertwined populations, economies and politics, but also of shared basic foods and dietetic patterns, which have been shown to improve life expectancy and reduce cancer incidence. Meanwhile, pharmaconutrition is spreading in all the clinical fields and new clinical trials have been designed concerning antioxidants, nutrients and non-nutrients derived from vegetables (mainly but not only from the Mediterranean area) that could have a role in the complementary therapy of chronic diseases and cancer. Based on these premises, the Mediterranean Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism aims to publish original scientific papers (reviews, articles and case reports) on metabolism (diabesity and eating disorders), nutrition (epidemiological, basic, clinical and artificial), dietary and nutritional practices and management, and their impact on health from prevention to treatment. In accordance with the usual policy, the journal will also host the proceedings of relevant congresses and shorter notices focused on the original character of the Mediterranean nutritional civilisation. In addition, this journal is intended as a platform of scientific debate and knowledge-sharing among students and clinical practitioners, and between them and the broader scientific community, and last but not least as a tool for promoting and enhancing scientific cooperation.

Metabolic Engineering Communications is devoted to publishing original research in the areas of metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, computational biology and systems biology for problems related to metabolism and the engineering of metabolism for the production of fuels, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.The journal will carry articles on the design, construction, and analysis of biological systems ranging from pathway components to biological complexes and genomes (including genomic, analytical and bioinformatics methods) in suitable host cells to allow them to produce novel compounds of industrial and medical interest. Demonstrations of regulatory designs and synthetic circuits that alter the performance of biochemical pathways and cellular processes will also be presented. Metabolic Engineering Communications complements the full journal through the publication of articles that are shorter, or describe key elements of larger metabolic engineering efforts, than those published in the full journal while similarly impacting the development of the field.

Metabolites (ISSN 2218-1989) is an international, peer-reviewed open access journal of metabolism and metabolomics. Metabolites publishes original research articles and review articles in molecular aspects of metabolism relevant to the fields of metabolomics, metabolic biochemistry, computational and systems biology, biotechnology and medicine, with a particular focus on the biological roles of metabolites and small molecule biomarkers.

Metabolomics publishes a substantial share of the most significant current research in the areas of various-technology platform development for metabolomics, metabolite target analysis, metabolic profiling and metabolic fingerprinting; progress in data preparation, storage, curation and analyses; comparative integrated studies with transcriptomics and proteomics including within a systems biology context; and the application of metabolomics as it relates to man, animals and plants.Metabolomics includes wide-ranging and rigorously peer-reviewed research papers and reviews ; a comment section for responses from readers on articles published; conference announcements and reports; funding initiatives and other metabolomics topics; occasional special issues focusing on subjects of particular interest.  Metabolomics publishes six issues a year.  Metabolomics is the official journal of the Metabolomics Society.
