Acta Ophthalmologica is the official scientific publication of the five Nordic ophthalmological societies: The Danish Ophthalmological Society, The Finnish Ophthalmological Society, The Icelandic Ophthalmological Society, The Norwegian Ophthalmological Society and The Swedish Ophthalmological Society, and also the European Association for Vision and Eye Research (EVER).
The American Journal of Ophthalmology is a peer-reviewed, scientific publication that welcomes the submission of original, previously unpublished manuscripts directed to ophthalmologists and visual science specialists describing clinical investigations, clinical observations, and clinically relevant laboratory investigations. Published monthly since 1884, the full text of the American Journal of Ophthalmology and supplementary material are also presented on the Internet at www.AJO.com.The American Journal of Ophthalmology publishes Original Articles, Brief Reports, Perspectives, Editorials, Abstracts, Correspondence, Book Reports and Announcements. Perspectives, Editorials, and Abstracts (from other journals) are published by invitation.Manuscripts are accepted with the understanding that they have not been and will not be published elsewhere substantially in any format, and that there are no ethical problems with the content or data collection. Authors may be requested to produce the data upon which the manuscript is based and to answer expeditiously any questions about the manuscript or its authors. The American Orthoptic Journal enables those in the orthoptic and ophthalmologic communities to keep abreast of current clinical practice and research in ocular motility. The Journal serves as a forum for the presentation of new material in the fields of pediatric ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, amblyopia and strabismus. Materials contained in the journal include freely submitted peer reviewed articles, the Richard G. Scobee Memorial Lecture, the John Pratt Johnson Lecture, and the proceedings of the combined AOC/AACO/AAO symposium held at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Abstracts of the English, French, German, and Spanish literature on the subjects of amblyopia and strabismus as well as book reviews are also included. American Orthoptic Journal is indexed in MEDLINE.
Archivos de la Sociedad Española de Oftalmología (Archives of the Spanish Ophthalmology Society), indexed in the most prestigious international data bases, such as PubMed/MEDLINE, is the official Journal of the Society and gives priority to publishing basic and clinical research article, such as reviews, original articles, short communications and editorials, associated with Ophthalmology in its different specialties. It also publishes letters to the editor, book reviews, information on events, personal notices and commercial advertising, as well as works on historic topics and illustrations also associated with Ophthalmology.

The British Journal of Ophthalmology (BJO) is an international peer-reviewed journal for ophthalmologists and visual science specialists describing clinical investigations, clinical observations, and clinically relevant laboratory investigations related to ophthalmology. Main features include articles on both clinical and laboratory sciences, up to date major reviews, editorials, education articles and letters. There are sections for 'Innovations' and 'Global issues' where surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic innovations and manuscripts of regional interest to geographic areas of the world respectively, are published.
The British Journal of Visual Impairment is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed publication concerned with social research, policy and practice. This peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishes original case reports covering the entire spectrum of ophthalmology, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, supportive care, and quality-of-life issues. Case Reports in Ophthalmology provides clinicians and researchers with a platform to disseminate their findings to a broader ophthalmology community. In addition to single case studies, the journal also accepts papers discussing case series and case reports dealing with the use of novel technologies, both in the area of diagnosis and treatment. Submission of negative results may be considered. Supplementary material is welcomed.
