The Journal of Analytical Chemistry (Zhurnal Analiticheskoi Khimii) covers theoretical and objects analyzed applied aspects of analytical chemistry; it informs the reader of new achivements in analytical methods, and analytes; new instruments; and reagents. Ample space is devoted to problems arising in the analysis of vital media such as water and air. Consideration is given to the detection and determination of metal ions, anions, and various organic and other substances. The Journal of Analytical Chemistry is intended for scientists and specialists at research institutes, universities, and other educational establishments; for students at institutions of higher education; and for analysts working in industry, agriculture, medicine, and environmental services.

Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics presents top-level work in fluid mechanics and applied physics. The Journal publishes selected articles from Sibirskii Zhurnal Industrial’noi Matematiki and Diskretnyi Analiz i Issledovanie Operatsii on mathematical research in natural sciences, technology, ecology, medicine, and economics. The Journal publishes original articles in the English language based on the research work of academic institutes in Russia and CIS. The Journal welcomes original works in thermophysics from various countries. The Journal focuses on experimental work, theory, analysis, and computational studies for better understanding of engineering and environmental aspects of thermophysics. The editorial board encourages the authors to submit papers with emphasis on new scientific aspects in experimental and visualization techniques, mathematical models of thermophysical process, energy, and environmental applications. The Journal covers all subject areas of thermophysics, including heat and mass transfer, multiphase flow, conduction, radiation, combustion, thermogasdynamics, rarefied gas flow, environmental protection in power engineering, and many others.Until 2002 the Journal was titled the Russian Journal of Engineering Thermophysics.

The Journal of Evolutionary Biochemistry and Physiology (Zhurnal Evolyutsionnoi Biokhimii i Fiziologii) publishes experimental and theoretical papers, reviews and information about the problems concerning evolution of the main forms of metabolism in connection with life origin; about comparative and ontogenetic physiology and biochemistry; biochemical evolution of animal world and papers connected with the problem of evolution of functions and on morphology, pharmacology, pathophysiology and ecological physiology.

The Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics is published in English translation simultaneously
with its original Russian edition. This influential physics research journal emphasizes fundamental
theoretical and experimental research in all fields of physics, from solids and liquids to elementary particles and astrophysics. Journal of Ichthyology is an English version of Voprosy ikhtiologii. Since its foundation in 1953, as an irregulary published collection of papers, and its establishment as a periodical in 1961, it has remained the leading domestic journal in all fields of ichthyology. All articles are reviewed and cover fish ecology, morphology, genetics, physiology, embryology, systematics and fisheries biology. The Editorial Board welcomes articles from all countries of the world, provided they meet our scientific standards. Papers that are submitted in English and accepted by the Editorial Board are translated into Russian. Both versions are published simultaneously in Journal of Ichthyology and Voprosy Ikhtiologii, respectively.

Kinetics and Catalysis (Kinetika i Kataliz) is the only Russian journal that currently publishes theoretical and experimental materials on homogeneous and heterogeneous kinetics and catalysis. Other topics addressed include the mechanism and kinetics of noncatalytic processes in gaseous, liquid, and solid phases, quantum chemical calculations in kinetics and catalysis, methods of investigating catalytic processes and catalysts, the chemistry of catalysts and adsorbent surfaces, the structure and physicochemical properties of catalysts, preparation and poisoning of catalysts, macrokinetics, and computer simulation in catalysis. The journal publishes information on scientific conferences held in the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as surveys by leading researchers on contemporary problems in kinetics and catalysis. Kinetics and Catalysis was founded in 1960 by the Russian scientist Academician G.K. Boreskov, along with other outstanding specialists in kinetics and catalysis.

Lithology and Mineral Resources (Litologiya i poleznye iskopaemye) reviews a wide range of problems related to the formation of sedimentary rocks and ores. Special attention is devoted to comparison of ancient sedimentary rock and ore formation with present-day processes, as the idea of actualism has always constituted one of the bases of the scientific philosophy of lithologists. A major part of the journal is devoted to comparative analysis of sedimentary processes on continents and in oceans, as well as the genetic aspects of the formation of sedimentary and hydrothermal-sedimentary mineral resources. The journal was founded in 1963 by Academician N. M. Strakhov. It will be of interest to lithologists, petrographers, geochemists, mineralogists, ore geologists and metallogenists, as well as to other geologists, ecologists, researchers of experimental and analytical laboratories, and graduate students.

Mathematical Models and Computer Simulations is concerned with a variety of aspects of computer-assisted modeling and simulation in science and technology: the investigation of scientific problems and construction of mathematical models, the development of numerical methods, the computer test of the models, construction of computer codes for actual applied problems, and another cases studies.The journal publishes reviews, original articles, abstracts of preprints, reports and manuscripts.
