ISSN: 1550-2287eISSN: 1550-2295
JUFO Level 1

Computational mechanics is an integral and major subject of research in many fields of science and engineering, design and manufacturing. Major established industries such as the automobile, aerospace, atmospheric sciences, chemical, pharmaceutical, petroleum, electronics and communications, as well as emerging industries such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, and information technology rely on computational mechanics-based capabilities to model and numerically simulate complex systems for the analysis, design, and manufacturing of high-technology products. Rapid advances in computer architecture, hardware, software technology and tools, and numerical and non-numerical algorithms, are making significant contributions to the development of computational models and methods to model materials and analyze and design complex engineering systems. The main aim of International Journal for Computational Methods in Engineering Science & Mechanics (CMES) is to provide a unique interdisciplinary forum to publish papers dealing with mathematical models and computational methods and algorithms for the numerical simulation of natural processes arising in applied science and mechanics. Special emphasis will be placed on both upstream and applied research and on the transfer of technology to the industry in the areas of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, solid and structural mechanics in the disciplines of aerospace, chemical, civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, and computational biology, chemistry, and materials science. Papers dealing with novel computational methods to model current and emerging technologies in microelectromechanical systems, electromagnetics, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and information technology are encouraged.Through faster dissemination, the International Journal for Computational Methods in Engineering Science & Mechanics (CMES) offers scope for academics, researchers, and engineering professionals to present their research and development works that have potential for applications in several disciplines of engineering. The journal publishes manuscripts dealing primarily with the computational science and mechanics aspects of natural phenomena (for example, mathematical modeling of materials and systems, novel applications, and numerical simulations). Contributions may range from new methods to novel applications of existing methods to gain understanding of the material and/or structural behavior of new and advanced systems. JUFO Level 1

The International Journal of Agricultural Sustainability ( IJAS ) is a cross-disciplinary, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the understanding of sustainability in agricultural and food systems. IJAS publishes both theoretical developments and critical appraisals of new evidence on what is not sustainable about current or past agricultural and food systems, as well as on transitions towards agricultural and rural sustainability at farm, community, regional, national and international levels, and through food supply chains. It is committed to clear and consistent use of language and logic, and the use of appropriate evidence to substantiate empirical statements.IJAS increases knowledge on what technologies and processes are contributing to agricultural sustainability, what policies, institutions and economic structures are preventing or promoting sustainability, and what relevant lessons should be learned.IJAS addresses agricultural sustainability directly and comprehensively. Papers published in the journal contribute to answering the questions: What makes agriculture more (or less) sustainable, how, and why?IJAS covers both theoretical as well as more technical topics, but does not include coverage of technical experimental findings, derived from field or laboratory based studies, unless they explicitly and comprehensively discuss the sustainability aspects of the research.Authors and researchers are strongly encouraged to take a look at previously published IJAS papers. International Journal of Architectural Heritage: Conservation, Analysis and Restoration

ISSN: 1558-3058eISSN: 1558-3066
JUFO Level 2

Preservation of the architectural heritage is considered a fundamental issue in the life of modern societies. In addition to their historical interest, cultural heritage buildings are valuable because they contribute significantly to the economy by providing key attractions in a context where tourism and leisure are major industries in the 3rd millennium. The need of preserving historical constructions is thus not only a cultural requirement, but also an economical and developmental demand. The study of historical buildings and other structures must be undertaken from an approach based on the use of modern technologies and science. The final aim must be to select and adequately manage the possible technical means needed to attain the required understanding of the morphology and the structural behavior of the construction and to characterize its repair needs. Modern requirements for an intervention include reversibility, unobtrusiveness, minimum repair, and respect of the original construction, as well as the obvious functional and structural requirements. Restoration operations complying with these principles require a scientific, multidisciplinary approach that comprehends historical understanding, modern non-destructive inspection techniques, and advanced experimental and computer methods of analysis. Therefore, International Journal of Architectural Heritage covers the main aspects related to the study and repair of existing buildings, including: * Issues on the history of construction and architectural technology * General criteria and methodology for study and intervention * Historical and traditional building techniques * Survey techniques * Non-destructive testing, inspection, and monitoring * Experimental results and laboratory testing * Analytical and numerical approaches * Innovative and traditional materials for repair and restoration * Innovative strategies and techniques for repair and restoration * General remedial measures * Repair and strengthening of structures * Seismic behavior and retrofitting * Detailed and state-of-the-art case studies The main objective is to provide an overview of existing resources useful for the rigorous and scientifically based study of the state of ancient structures and to present state-of-the-art novel research in the field. The journal will publish review papers, research papers, and detailed case studies. Interdisciplinary contributions will be highly appreciated.
