JUFO Level 1

Diversity (ISSN 1424-2818) is an international and interdisciplinary journal of science concerning diversity concept and application, diversity assessment and diversity preservation. It is focused on organismic and molecular diversity. It publishes reviews, regular research papers and short notes in the regular issues. Related news and announcements are also published. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. Therefore, there is no restriction on the length of the papers. Full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. There are in addition two unique features:Comments on any related papers published in this journal and other journals can be published as short letters.Electronic files regarding the full details of the calculation and experimental procedure, if unable to be published in a normal way, will be deposited as supplementary material.

Ecosystem Services

eISSN: 2212-0416
JUFO Level 2

Ecosystem Services, associated with the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP), is an international, interdisciplinary journal that deals with the science, policy and practice of Ecosystem Services in the following disciplines: ecology and economics, institutions, planning and decision making, economic sectors such as agriculture, forestry and outdoor recreation, and all types of ecosystems. The aims of the journal are:(1) To improve our understanding of the dynamics, benefits and social and economic values of ecosystem services, (2) To provide insight in the consequences of policies and management for ecosystem services with special attention to sustainability issues, (3) To create a scientific interface to policymakers in the field of ecosystem services assessment and practice, and(4) To integrate the fragmented knowledge about ecosystem services, synergies and trade-offs, currently found in a wide field of specialist disciplines and journals.Manuscripts should always address ecosystem services and deal with at least one of the following themes:(a) The link between ecosystem services and social and economic benefits and associated values, including monetary values; i.e. what is the role of ecosystem services in providing and sustaining benefits for humans and how are these benefits and values perceived by public and policy makers? (b) The link between the levels of ecosystem services and economic, environmental and land use policies and practices; i.e. how is (the sustainability of) ecosystem services in natural, agricultural and urban systems affected by these policies and what are the trade-offs in service provision, and subsequent benefits and economic values, between different policy schemes?(c) The link between government and business strategies and the sustainability of ecosystem services, i.e. the use of ecosystem services in PES arrangements, biodiversity-offset programs and multiple service land use planning.Articles may address these topics from different (paradigmatic) perspectives, including basic research, integrated assessment approaches and (ex ante and ex post) policy evaluations. They may be inter-disciplinary or draw from specialized fields within economic, ecological, social and political sciences. Systems addressed may range from natural and semi-natural ecosystems to cultivated systems and urban areas and from local to global scales.Article types:• Original Research Articles (including policy assessments) • Short communications• Review Articles (including policy reviews) • Views and Commentaries• Letters to the Editor• Special issue PapersAudience: academia, governments, non-governmental organisations, business community.

JUFO Level 1

The Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Ethics presents articles on ethical issues confronting agriculture, food production and environmental concerns. The goal of this journal is to create a forum for discussion of moral issues arising from actual or projected social policies in regard to a wide range of questions. Among these are ethical questions concerning the responsibilities of agricultural producers, the assessment of technological changes affecting farm populations, the utilization of farmland and other resources, the deployment of intensive agriculture, the modification of ecosystems, animal welfare, the professional responsibilities of agrologists, veterinarians, or food scientists, the use of biotechnology, the safety, availability, and affordability of food. The journal publishes scientific articles that are relevant to ethical issues, as well as philosophical papers and brief discussion pieces, and book reviews.

Journal of Agricultural, Biological, and Environmental Statistics

ISSN: 1085-7117eISSN: 1537-2693
JUFO Level 1

The Journal of Agricultural, Biological, and Environmental Statistics (JABES) publishes papers of immediate and practical value to applied researchers and statistical consultants in the agricultural sciences, the biological sciences (including biotechnology), and the environmental sciences (including those dealing with natural resources). Only papers that address applied statistical problems will be considered. Interdisciplinary papers as well as papers that illustrate the application of new and important statistical methods using real data are strongly encouraged. For regular papers, a motivating example should be presented early in the paper. The statistical development should then be presented, and the results applied to the example. Expository, review, and survey articles addressing broad-based statistical issues are encouraged. Presentation should be accurate, clear, and comprehensible to readers with a background in statistical applications. When necessary, detailed proofs, computer code, and other leng

Journal of Biological Systems

ISSN: 0218-3390eISSN: 1793-6470
JUFO Level 1

The Journal of Biological Systems is published quarterly. The goal of the Journal is to promote interdisciplinary approaches in Biology and in Medicine, and the study of biological situations with a variety of tools, including mathematical and general systems methods. The Journal solicits original research papers and survey articles in areas that include (but are not limited to):*Complex systems studies; isomorphies; nonlinear dynamics; entropy; mathematical tools and systems theories with applications in Biology and Medicine.*Interdisciplinary approaches in Biology and Medicine; transfer of methods from one discipline to another; integration of biological levels, from atomic to molecular, macromolecular, cellular, and organic levels; animal biology; plant biology.*Environmental studies; relationships between individuals, populations, communities and ecosystems; bioeconomics, management of renewable resources; hierarchy theory; integration of spatial and time scales.*Evolutionary biology; co-evolutions; genetics and evolution; branching processes and phyllotaxis.*Medical systems; physiology; cardiac modeling; computer models in Medicine; cancer research; epidemiology.*Numerical simulations and computations; numerical study and analysis of biological data.*Epistemology; history of science. The journal will also publish book reviews.Manuscripts should be sent directly to the Chief Editor (rvjcm611121@yahoo.ca) or via the journal online submission at http://www.worldscinet.com/jbs/editorial/submitpaper.shtmlOnly original papers will be considered. Submission of a manuscript indicates a tacit understanding that the paper is not actively under consideration for publication with other journals. Once a paper is accepted, author are assumed to cede copyrights to their paper over to World Scientific Publishing Co.In order to better stress the biological significance and the interdisciplinary impact of the mathematical developments, those developments (e.g., the proofs of propositions) that are not absolutely necessary to follow the main line of thoughts should be placed in an Appendix and even erased when a trained mathematician can recover them, and the mathematical style of presentation, that is definition, lemma, proof, theorem, proof, corollary, proof, etc, should be relaxed as much as possibl.

The Journal of Mathematical Biology focuses on mathematical biology - work that uses mathematical approaches to gain biological understanding or explain biological phenomena.Papers should either provide biological insight as a result of mathematical analysis or identify and open up challenging new types of mathematical problems that derive from biological knowledge (in the form of data, or theory, or simulation results). Mathematical ideas, methods, techniques and results are welcome, provided they show sufficient potential for usefulness in a biological context. Authors are encouraged to include a brief summarising discussion of the main results to make them accessible to readers with biology background.Areas of biology covered include, but are not restricted to, cell biology, physiology, development, neurobiology, genetics and population genetics, population biology, ecology, behavioural biology, evolution, epidemiology, immunology, molecular biology, biofluids, DNA and protein structure and function.
