Asian Ethnicity
In the twenty-first century ethnic issues have assumed importance in many parts of the world. Until recently, questions of Asian ethnicity and identity have been treated in a balkanized fashion, with anthropologists, economists, historians, political scientists, sociologists and others publishing their studies in single-discipline journals. Asian Ethnicity provides a cross-disciplinary, international venue for the publication of well-researched articles about ethnic groups and ethnic relations in the half of the world where questions of ethnicity now loom largest. Asian Ethnicity covers any time period, although the greatest focus is expected to be on the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. In broad terms the geographical region of concern for the journal is bounded by Lake Baikal to the north, Japan to the east, Java to the south and the Caspian Sea to the west. Audiology and Neurotology provides a forum for the publication of the most advanced and rigorous scientific research related to the basic science and clinical aspects of the auditory and vestibular system and diseases of the ear. This journal seeks submission of cutting-edge research opening up new and innovative fields of study that may improve our understanding and treatment of patients with disorders of the auditory and vestibular systems, their central connections, and their perception in the central nervous system.
Autophagy
Autophagy, is a unique peer-reviewed journal with an international audience that covers the following topics: macroautophagy, microautophagy, specific organelle degradation (e.g., pexophagy) and additional autophagic processes including chaperone-mediated autophagy; the molecular mechanism of autophagy including the characterization of structural proteins and structure/function relationships; signaling and autophagic regulation; the role of autophagy in diseases including cancer, neurodegeneration and myopathies; developmental roles of autophagy and its connection with aging; autophagy in microbial invasion and the immune response; and autophagy in cell death.Autophagy publishes several types of papers including: Original research (both basic science and translational), reviews (both comprehensive overviews and short puncta), technical papers (toolbox, protocol and resource), commentaries, and articles on science and art. Reviews, puncta and commentaries will generally be invited. We cover a wide range of topics in all experimental systems. We also anticipate special issues that are devoted to particular areas of research. BIOCELL welcomes articles reporting research on Cell and Molecular Biology, and on the suborganismal and organismal aspects of Vertebrate Reproduction and Development, Invertebrate Biology and Plant Biology. Brief reports are also accepted for publication under special circumstances. Review papers will be considered only after invitation by the Editorial Board.Manuscripts should be submitted by email to the Editor-in-Chief (Professor R. S. Piezzi, biocell.journal@gmail.com) as .doc or .rtf files. The accompanying figures (in separate files) should be in uncompressed .tif files.All manuscripts are peer-reviewed before acceptance, which is based upon significance and originality of results, and of validity of conclusions. A high q uality of figures (and the requested resolution, see below) are also essential for acceptance. The corresponding author is invited to suggest (on the body of the email message) up to four names and email addresses of possible reviewers.Receipt will be acknowledged to the corresponding author, indicating the identification number which should be mentioned in all future correspondence. As a rule, no correspondence with the other authors is entertained.Manuscripts are considered on the understanding that their content is not already published or being offered for publication elsewhere.
