The Journal of Web Semantics is an interdisciplinary journal based on research and applications of various subject areas that contribute to the development of a knowledge-intensive and intelligent service Web. These areas include: knowledge technologies, ontology, agents, databases and the semantic grid, obviously disciplines like information retrieval, language technology, human-computer interaction and knowledge discovery are of major relevance as well. All aspects of the Semantic Web development are covered. The publication of large-scale experiments and their analysis is also encouraged to clearly illustrate scenarios and methods that introduce semantics into existing Web interfaces, contents and services. Research papers are recommended to have 15 - 25 pages in double column format.• Survey papers: We rarely accept survey papers, and beyond a sheer enumeration of relevant methods and systems, we expect a substantial technical insight to be gained by a survey paper. Survey papers are recommended to have 15 - 25 pages in double column format. • Ontology papers: We publish community-oriented description of ontology papers, if they generate interests from real-world users and semantic Web experts. Ontology papers are recommended to have 6 - 8 pages in double column format. Systems papers are recommended to have 6 - 8 pages in double column format.Shorter or longer papers are allowable, if the objectives of a paper warrant deviating length. Descriptions that are either unnecessarily short or long will negatively impact chances of acceptance.

The Journal of the ACM (JACM) provides coverage of the most significant work going on in computer science, broadly construed. It is a peer-reviewed journal, published six times a year by ACM.We publish original research papers of lasting value in computer science. To be accepted, a paper must be judged to be truly outstanding in its field and to be of interest to a wide audience. We are particularly interested in work at the boundaries, both the boundaries of subdisciplines of computer science and the boundaries between computer science and other fields.

Knowledge and Information Systems (KAIS) provides an international forum for researchers and professionals to share their knowledge and report new advances on all topics related to knowledge systems and advanced information systems. This bi-monthly peer-reviewed archival journal publishes state-of-the-art research reports on emerging topics in KAIS, reviews of important techniques in related areas, and application papers of interest to a general readership. The journal focuses on knowledge systems and advanced information systems, including their theoretical foundations, infrastructure and enabling technologies. We solicit submissions of original research, and experience and vision papers that address this theme. Accepted papers are grouped for publication so that individual issues focus on a small number of theme areas. In addition to archival papers, the journal also publishes significant on-going research in the form of Short Papers (limited to 3000 words), and very short papers on 'visions and directions' (no more than 1000 words, excluding bibliography). We conduct reviews in a timely fashion and inform authors of decisions with a target turnaround time of 3 months. Selected papers from relevant conferences are welcome. Good papers with high quality reviews can be accepted after the expansion and revision is verified by an Associate Editor of the Editorial Board. Knowledge-Based Systems is an international, interdisciplinary and applications-oriented journal. This journal focuses on systems that use knowledge-based (KB) techniques to support human decision-making, learning and action; emphases the practical significance of such KB-systems; its computer development and usage; covers the implementation of such KB-systems: design process, models and methods, software tools, decision-support mechanisms, user interactions, organizational issues, knowledge acquisition and representation, and system architectures.

Machine Learning is an international forum for research on computational approaches to learning. The journal publishes articles reporting substantive results on a wide range of learning methods applied to a variety of learning problems. The journal features papers that describe research on problems and methods, applications research, and issues of research methodology. Papers making claims about learning problems or methods provide solid support via empirical studies, theoretical analysis, or comparison to psychological phenomena. This is the official journal of the Mathematical Optimization Society. It publishes original articles dealing with every aspect of mathematical programming: everything of direct or indirect use concerning the problem of optimizing a function of many variables, often subject to a set of constraints. This involves theoretical and computational issues as well as application studies. Mathematical Programming consists of two series: Series A publishes original research articles, expositions and surveys, and reports on computational experimentation and new or innovative practical applications as well as short communications dealing with the above. Each issue of Series B focuses on a single subject, selected to respond to the current interests of the mathematical programming community and has one or more guest-editors, who need not be members of the editorial board. An issue may be a collection of original articles, a single research monograph or a selection of papers from an appropriate conference.

Mathematical Programming Computation (MPC) publishes original research articles covering computational issues in mathematical programming. Articles report on innovative software, comparative tests, modeling environments, libraries of data, and/or applications. A main feature of the journal is the inclusion of accompanying software and data with submitted manuscripts. The journal's review process includes the evaluation and testing of the accompanying software. Where possible, the review will aim for verification of reported computational results. Topics covered in MPC include linear programming, convex optimization, nonlinear optimization, stochastic optimization, robust optimization, integer programming, combinatorial optimization, global optimization, network algorithms, and modeling languages.

The analysis and improvement of performance in complex systems, the adaptation of plants to new demands or conditions, and the design of 'optimal' systems are a few of the challenges confronting engineers and systems scientists today. In many cases solutions to problems in areas such as these may be found through the use of appropriate mathematical models. The dynamic case, whether continuous time, discrete time of discrete-event, deterministic or stochastic, presents special challenges, and derivation of an appropriate solution depends strongly on the proper initial formulation of the goals and constraints. Increasingly this demands an interdisciplinary approach to modelling. Models can take the form of sets of equations, graphs or nets, or some combination of elements such as these. The derivation, combination, simplification and validation of models and sub-models are the main topics of Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems, which provides an international forum for the presentation of new ideas in modelling and for the exchange of experience and knowledge through descriptions of specific applications. Microprocessors and Microsystems: Embedded Hardware Design (MICPRO) is a journal covering all design and architectural aspects related to embedded systems hardware. It includes different embedded system hardware platforms ranging from custom hardware via reconfigurable systems and application specific processors to general purpose embedded processors. Special emphasis is put on novel complex embedded architectures, such as systems on chip (SoC), systems on a programmable/reconfigurable chip (SoPC) and multi-processors on a chip (MPoC) as well as their communication methods, such as network-on-chip (NoC).Design automation of such systems including methodologies, techniques and tools for their design as well as novel designs of hardware components fall within the scope of this journal. The journal Mobile Networks and Applications reflects the emerging symbiosis of portable computers and wireless networks, addressing the convergence of mobility, computing and information organization, access and management. In its special issues, the journal places an equal emphasis on various areas of nomadic computing, data management, related software and hardware technologies, and mobile user services, alongside more ‘classical’ topics in wireless and mobile networking. The journal documents practical and theoretical results which make a fundamental contribution.

Non-profit Journal: MIC is operated as a non-profit journal and the journal is to a large extent based on voluntary contributions from the editors and reviewers. Any income generated by the journal from author contributions and sponsors are only meant to cover the costs associated with running the journal. From 2009 the MIC articles are available for free download on the Internet, and MIC loses the income source from subscriptions. To compensate for this loss of income, MIC currently requires an author contribution of NOK 1000 per published article. Each author will receive a complimentary issue of the printed edition of MIC where the article appears. The publication fee will be adjusted annually to balance out the costs of running the journal.Review: Each submitted article will initially be reviewed by the editor and/or the editorial secretary. If the article passes the initial review, it will be reviewed in a second step by the closest discipline editor and two internationally recognised experts in the field. All reviews in MIC are anonymous and the journal strives to avoid any conflict of interest in the review process.
