Pavement Engineering lies at the heart of modern society in both technologically advanced and developing countries. Delivery of goods and services to markets and consumers depends on the provision of reliable highway and airport pavement systems. The International Journal of Pavement Engineering is dedicated to the publication of cutting edge research and development in such important types of structures and facilities, including advanced analytical and computational techniques, pavement mechanics, laboratory techniques, non-destructive testing, innovative design approaches and their implementation, construction, performance, maintenance and rehabilitation techniques. The Journal publishes the latest research findings from all over the world together with case records of successful (and not-so-successful) usage and performance results. Hence, one of the journal aims is to bring together and disseminate results of research and practice from one country to another. International Journal of Pest Management publishes original research papers and reviews concerned with pest management in the broad sense, covering the control of pests (invertebrates, vertebrates and weeds) and diseases of plants, fungi and their products – including biological control, varietal and cultural control, chemical control and interference methods. The management of invasive species is of special interest. The International Journal of Production Research (IJPR) is a well-established and highly successful journal reporting production and manufacturing research. IJPR is published 24 times a year and includes papers on manufacturing technology and the fundamental behaviour of production resources, and also the complex and cross-disciplinary problems of analysis and control that arise in combining these resources within the design of production systems. International Journal of Qualitative Studies on Health and Well-being acknowledges the international and interdisciplinary nature of health-related issues. It intends to provide a meeting-point for studies using rigorous qualitative methodology of significance for issues related to human health and well-being. The aim of the International Journal of Qualitative Studies on Health and Well-being is to support and to shape the emerging field of qualitative studies and to encourage a better understanding of all aspects of human health and well-being. The International Journal of Radiation Biology publishes original papers, reviews, current topic articles, technical notes/reports, and meeting reports on the effects of ionizing, UV and visible radiation, accelerated particles, microwaves, ultrasound, heat and related modalities. The focus is on the biological effects of such radiations: from radiation chemistry to the spectrum of responses of living organisms and underlying mechanisms, including genetic abnormalities, repair phenomena, cell death, dose modifying agents and tissue responses. Application of basic studies to medical uses of radiation extends the coverage to practical problems such as physical and chemical adjuvants which improve the effectiveness of radiation in cancer therapy. International Journal of Speech Language Pathology is an international journal which promotes discussion on a broad range of current clinical and theoretical issues. Engineering and sustainable development are intrinsically linked. All capital plant and every consumable product depends on an engineering input through design, manufacture and operation, if not for the product itself then for the equipment required to process and transport the raw materials and the final product. Many aspects of sustainable development depend directly on appropriate and timely actions by engineers. Engineering is an extended process of analysis, synthesis, evaluation and execution and, therefore, it is argued that engineers must be involved from the outset of any proposal to develop sustainable solutions. Engineering embraces many disciplines and truly sustainable solutions are usually inter-disciplinary in nature.
