Journal of Drug Assessment

ISSN: 2155-6660eISSN: 2155-6660
DOAJ Logo

The mission of The Journal of Drug Assessment is to provide ethical, unbiased and rapid publication of quality content that is validated by rigorous peer review. The journal’s aim is to serve the information needs of the clinical medicine/research community and of the public to help facilitate improvements in patient health by facilitating a collaborative and honest approach to publication.

The Journal of Drug Assessment is an open-access, online-only, peer-reviewed journal that publishes a variety of study types from a range of therapeutic areas. We welcome smaller and lesser impact studies, results from trials that have not met their end-points, and studies with confirmatory findings from Phase I–Phase IV trials. The journal’s scope — combined with the transparent and rigorous peer review process — will make certain that papers are accepted based on their scientific merit (i.e., technically sound, well-written, comprehensive reports), not on the novelty or impact of the results. In addition, the rapid publication timeline allows for online publication with 5-7 weeks of submission, whilst always ensuring total transparency of the peer-review process and disclosure of financial and other relevant relationships for all submitted manuscripts.
The Journal of Drug Assessment publishes:
  • Smaller and lesser-impact studies
  • Early trial data
  • Incomplete/inconclusive or controversial trial results
  • Confirmatory studies
  • Updates to previous research
  • Full-length “Original Articles” and meta-analyses reporting the results of Phase I–IV studies on pharmaceutical products and medical devices in all drug classes, therapeutic areas and disease states (including approved and unapproved products, therapeutic diagnostic (theranostic) products, and over-the-counter medicines)
  • “Brief Research Reports” that meet the above criteria and have the same elements as a full-length paper, but are shorter, and provide more concise information in each element, and fewer illustrations
  • Reviews on new and existing drugs, novel study designs, research and pharmacoeconomic outcomes
  • Case studies in clinical practice, involving new and existing drugs
  • Editorials commenting on new developments in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs, new policies, health outcomes and drug manufacturing, and controversial clinical and preclinical findings
  • Letters to the Editor – correspondence to the Editor on previously published work are welcome
The journal will offer a rapid publication timeline (submission to online publication in 5-7 weeks), choice between full-length and abbreviated article formats, total transparency of the peer-review process, and disclosure of financial and other relevant relationships.

Journal of Dual Diagnosis

ISSN: 1550-4263eISSN: 1550-4271
JUFO Level 1

The Journal of Dual Diagnosis is a quarterly, international publication that focuses on the full spectrum of complexities regarding dual diagnosis. The co-occurrence of mental health and substance use disorders, or 8220;dual diagnosis,8221; is one of the quintessential issues in behavioral health. Why do such high rates of co-occurrence exist? What does it tell us about risk profiles? How do these linked disorders affect people, their families, and the communities in which they live? What are the natural paths to recovery? What specific treatments are most helpful and how can new ones be developed? How can we enhance the implementation of evidence-based practices at clinical, administrative, and policy levels? How can we help clients to learn active recovery skills and adopt needed supports, clinicians to master new interventions, programs to implement effective services, and communities to foster healthy adjustment? The Journal addresses each of these perplexing challenges. The Journal of Dual Diagnosis includes articles and perspectives from four overarching domains relevant to the field: Psychopharmacology & Neurobiology, Psychotherapy & Psychosocial Issues, Services & Policy, and Clinical Forum. Each issue (although not necessarily each article within an issue) serves to encourage integration of these domains. The Journal seeks to publish articles relevant to a wide range of individuals interested in dual diagnosis: researchers; physicians; clinicians; trainees and administrators. High-quality empirical research, brief reports, timely reviews, thought-provoking editorials, and on-going discussions of clinical issues will be considered for publication, all with the aim of developing a better understanding of the basis of and optimal treatment for co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders. Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Articles that demonstrate novel investigations and research interactions, bridging disciplinary divides, as well as integrate physical and ecological processes are particularly welcomed.

Key contributors comprise of aquatic biologists and ecologists, environmental and climate change scientists, civil, mechanical, and environmental engineers, regulators and policy makers, natural resource managers, and conservationists.

TJoE Topics

  • Ecohydraulic topics are broadly based on the trilogy of a) aquatic biota movements, b) e-flows, i.e. environmental, instream or ecological flow regimes, and c) habitat or ecological restoration.
  • Ecohydraulics deals with aquatic life in freshwater, lentic and marine ecosystems, native as well as introduced or invasive species, climate change effects, environmental impacts and mitigation measures; incorporates species-habitat relationships, the need and ways to ensure biota can overcome any artificial physical or behavioural barriers to their movements; interactions of ecological and biological aspects with groundwater, ice and thermal regimes, water quality, ocean habitats, wetlands, deltas, floodplains or channels.
  • Ecohydraulic science pertinent to aquatic life, including fluid mechanics, morphodynamics, fluvial geomorphology, hydrology and ice processes.
  • Aquatic fauna ecology and biology relevant to ecohydraulic science, including exotic species, artificial habitats, habitat preferences, movements, behaviour, biomechanics, bioenergetics, and population dynamics.
  • Aquatic ecology and biology from individual to population level, over a range of spatial (habitat patch to river basin) and temporal scales.
  • Mitigation measures, including biota passageways, fishways, fish screens, improvement, rehabilitation or replacement of habitats, wetlands, deltas or broader ecosystems.
  • River basin, ecosystem, estuarine, delta, and wetland restoration, including removal of dams and other water infrastructure, environmental impact assessment and aquatic ecosystems assessment.

The list above should be treated as indicative rather than fully exhaustive. Topics not mentioned above but still related to hydro-environment research may also be considered.
