Journal Guide

Published since 1963, this monthly journal features articles, notes, and discussions related to new developments in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, and applied sciences. The topics of papers written by researchers and engineers/scientists active in industry include soil and rock mechanics, material properties and fundamental behaviour, site characterization, foundations, excavations, tunnels, dams and embankments, slopes, landslides, geological and rock engineering, ground improvement, hydrogeology and contaminant hydrogeology, geochemistry, waste management, geosynthetics, offshore engineering, ice, frozen ground and northern engineering, risk and reliability applications, and physical and numerical modelling. Contributions that have practical relevance are preferred, including case records. Purely theoretical contributions are not generally published unless they are on a topic of special interest (like unsaturated soil mechanics or cold regions geotechnics) or they have direct practical value.

Published since 1974, this monthly publication is the official journal of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering. It contains articles on environmental engineering, hydrotechnical engineering, structure engineering, construction engineering, engineering mechanics, and engineering materials, and a history of civil engineering. Contributors include recognized researchers and practitioners in industry, government, and academe. New developments in engineering design and construction are also featured.

The Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, issued quarterly, has been publishing high-quality refereed scientific papers in all areas of electrical and computer engineering since 1976.
Sponsored by IEEE Canada (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., Canada) as a part of its role to provide scientific and professional activity for its members in Canada, the CJECE complements international journals and will be of particular interest to anyone involved in research and development activities in the field of electrical and computer engineering.

The majority of Maney journals are published online via the ingentaconnect platform, with one exception published online via HighWire.Access to the full text of each volume is available free of charge to subscribers with a paid-up subscription to that volume. (Some exceptions apply.) Subscribers are also given access in perpetuity to all previous volumes to which they held a paid-up subscription.For non-subscribers, there is a standard price for all articles and issues available online within each journal. Cardiovascular Engineering and Technology is a journal publishing the spectrum of basic to translational research in all aspects of cardiovascular physiology and medical treatment. It is the forum for academic and industrial investigators to disseminate research that utilizes engineering principles and methods to advance fundamental knowledge and technological solutions related to the cardiovascular system. Manuscripts spanning from subcellular to systems level topics are invited, including but not limited to implantable medical devices, hemodynamics and tissue biomechanics, functional imaging, surgical devices, electrophysiology, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, diagnostic instruments, transport and delivery of biologics, and sensors. In addition to manuscripts describing the original publication of research, manuscripts reviewing developments in these topics or their state-of-art are also invited.

Cartilage (CART) is a peer-reviewed quarterly journal on the musculoskeletal system with particular attention to cartilage repair, development, function, degeneration, transplantation, and rehabilitation. Aimed at researchers and clinicians involved in cartilage biology and repair, CART publishes full length original manuscripts on all types of cartilage including articular, nasal, auricular, tracheal/bronchial, and intervertebral disc fibrocartilage.

Cartography and Geographic Information Science (CaGIS) is the official publication of the Cartography and Geographic Information Society. CaGIS supports research, education, and practices that improve the understanding, creation, analysis, and use of maps and geographic information. The society serves as a forum for the exchange of original concepts, techniques, approaches, and experiences by those who design, implement, and use geospatial technologies through the publication of authoritative articles and international papers. The role of the CaGIS journal is to facilitate these objectives by disseminating results and reports in these areas of interest.

Case Studies in Engineering Failure Analysis provides a forum for the rapid publication of short, structured Case Studies in Engineering Failure Analysis and related Short Communications, and will provide an essential compendium of case studies for practitioners in the field of engineering failure analysis and others who are interested in the ways in which components fail.The journal will not only publish new and novel case studies, but will also provide a forum for the publication of high quality descriptions of classic failures. The journal will generally not publish design analyses, materials science studies or failures induced during laboratory testing. The scope of the journal will include case studies of component failures in the fields of mechanical, civil, aerospace, mining, oil and gas, medical, electrical, transportation, power generation, process and forensic engineering, although failure of engineering components in other areas will also be considered.Case Studies in Engineering Failure Analysis is an open access journal. Case Studies in Thermal Engineering provides a forum for the rapid publication of short, structured Case Studies in Thermal Engineering and related Short Communications. It provides an essential compendium of case studies for researchers and practitioners in the field of thermal engineering and others who are interested in aspects of thermal engineering cases that could affect other engineering processes. The journal not only publishes new and novel case studies, but also provides a forum for the publication of high quality descriptions of classic thermal engineering problems. The scope of the journal includes case studies of thermal engineering problems in components, devices and systems using existing experimental and numerical techniques in the areas of mechanical, aerospace, chemical, medical, thermal management for electronics, heat exchangers, regeneration, solar thermal energy, thermal storage, building energy conservation, and power generation. Case studies of thermal problems in other areas will also be considered.Fundamental thermal science and engineering studies are generally not included in the scope of the journal.Manuscript length should not exceed five journal pages.Case Studies in Thermal Engineering is an open access journal. Catalysis Today focuses on the rapid publication of original invited papers devoted to currently important topics in catalysis and related subjects. The journal only publishes special issues, each of which is supervised by Guest Editors who recruit individual papers and oversee the peer review process. Catalysis Today offers researchers in the field of catalysis in-depth overviews of topical issues.Both fundamental and applied aspects of catalysis are covered. Subjects such as catalysis of immobilized organometallic and biocatalytic systems are welcome.
