Ageing Research Reviews

ISSN: 1568-1637eISSN: 1872-9649
JUFO Level 1

As the average human life expectancy has increased, so too has the impact of ageing and age-related disease on our society. Ageing research is now the focus of thousands of laboratories that include leaders in the areas of genetics, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and behaviour. Ageing Research Reviews (ARR) covers the trends in this field. It is designed to fill a large void, namely, a source for critical reviews and viewpoints on emerging findings on mechanisms of ageing and age-related disease. Rapid advances in understanding of mechanisms that control cellular proliferation, differentiation and survival are leading to new insight into the regulation of ageing. From telomerase to stem cells to energy and oxyradical metabolism, this is an exciting new era in the multidisciplinary field of ageing research. The cellular and molecular underpinnings of manipulations that extend lifespan, such as caloric restriction, are being identified and novel approaches for preventing age-related diseases are being developed. ARR publishes articles on focussed topics selected from the broad field of ageing research, with an emphasis on cellular and molecular mechanisms of the aging process and age-related diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and neurodegenerative disorders. Applications of basic ageing research to lifespan extension and disease prevention are also covered in this journal.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Aging Cell

ISSN: 1474-9718eISSN: 1474-9726
DOAJ Logo
JUFO Level 2

Aging Cell is a bi-monthly peer-reviewed, open access journal that aims to publish the highest quality, innovative research addressing fundamental issues in the biology of aging. For publication in Aging Cell, the work must provide a major new contribution to the understanding of aging and be of general interest to the community. Aging Cell seeks to cover all areas of geroscience, highlighting research that uncovers mechanistic aspects of the aging process, as well as the links between aging and age-related disease. Observations of novel aging processes without substantial mechanistic insight will be considered, but should be of especially high impact for the field. Topics including, but not limited to, nutrient-responsive signaling pathways, neuronal and endocrine signaling pathways, tissue interactions, genetic and epigenetic regulation and integrity, proteostasis, circadian rhythms, ROS and mitochondria, cellular senescence, stem cells, progerias and interventions that affect aging are encouraged. All experimental approaches, including plant models, are welcome. Papers that focus on the pathogenesis of a specific age-related pathology are also of interest, but should offer new insights into the fundamental links between aging and disease.

Archives of Gerontology and Geriatrics

ISSN: 0167-4943eISSN: 1872-6976
JUFO Level 1

Archives of Gerontology and Geriatrics provides a medium for the publication of papers from the fields of experimental gerontology and clinical and social geriatrics. The principal aim of the journal is to facilitate the exchange of information between specialists in these three fields of gerontological research. Experimental papers dealing with the basic mechanisms of aging at molecular, cellular, tissue or organ levels will be published.Clinical papers will be accepted if they provide sufficiently new information or are of fundamental importance for the knowledge of human aging. Purely descriptive clinical papers will be accepted only if the results permit further interpretation. Papers dealing with anti-aging pharmacological preparations in humans are welcome. Papers on the social aspects of geriatrics will be accepted if they are of general interest regarding the epidemiology of aging and the efficiency and working methods of the social organizations for the health care of the elderly.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Experimental Gerontology

ISSN: 0531-5565
JUFO Level 1

Experimental Gerontology is a multidisciplinary journal for the publication of work from all areas of biogerontology, with an emphasis on studies focused at the systems level of investigation, such as whole organisms (e.g. invertebrate genetic models), immune, endocrine and cellular systems, as well as whole population studies (e.g. epidemiology). The journal also publishes studies into the behavioural and cognitive consequences of aging, where a clear biological causal link is implicated.Studies aimed at bridging the gap between basic and clinical aspects of gerontology, such as papers on the basic aspects of age-related diseases, are welcomed, as is research orientated toward the modulation of the aging process.Manuscripts on social aspects of aging and reports on clinical studies do not fall within the scope of the journal. In addition to original research manuscripts, short reports, reviews, mini-reviews, commentaries, perspectives, meeting reports and opinions on controversial subjects are published."Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Gerontology

ISSN: 0304-324XeISSN: 1423-0003
JUFO Level 1

Understanding the mechanisms of aging and age-related diseases has become an urgent matter given the growing proportion of older adults in the population. Gerontology, the oldest journal in the field, is the only journal with contributions from multiple disciplines. Its papers support the fundamental goals of extending active life and enhancing its quality. In the Clinical Section, the etiology, pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment of age-related diseases are discussed from a gerontological rather than a geriatric viewpoint. The Experimental Section contains up-to-date contributions from basic gerontological research. Papers dealing with behavioral development and related topics are published in the Behavioral Science Section. Basic aspects of regeneration in different experimental biological systems as well as in the context of medical applications are dealt with in the Regenerative Section whereas the Technological Section contains important information on major technological adva
