Amyloid: the Journal of Protein Folding Disorders is dedicated to the study of all aspects of the protein groups and associated disorders that are classified as the amyloidoses as well as other disorders associated with abnormal protein folding. The Journal has a major focus on etiology, pathogenesis, histopathology, chemical structure and the nature of fibrillogenesis and also publishes papers on the genetic aspects (both basic and clinical) of many of these disorders.Amyloid is recognised as one of the leaders in the publication of the classification of the amyloid proteins and the associated disorders as well as clinical studies of all aspects of the amyloid related neurodegenerative diseases and major clinical studies on the inherited amyloidosis , especially those related to transthyretin. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Frontotemporal Degeneration is an exciting new initiative. It represents a timely expansion of the journal Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis in response to the clinical, imaging pathological and genetic overlap between ALS and frontotemporal dementia. The expanded journal provides outstanding coverage of research in a wide range of issues related to motor neuron diseases, especially ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and cognitive decline associated with frontotemporal degeneration.
