DNA Repair provides a forum for the comprehensive coverage of DNA repair and cellular responses to DNA damage. The journal publishes original observations on genetic, cellular, biochemical, structural and molecular aspects of DNA repair, mutagenesis, cell cycle regulation, apoptosis and other biological responses in cells exposed to genomic insult, as well as their relationship to human disease.DNA Repair publishes full-length research articles, brief reports on research, and reviews. Its scope includes organometallic, bioinorganic, medicinal inorganic, materials and nanomaterials, with applications including synthesis, catalysis, energy conversion/storage, electrical devices and medicine and sensors.

Doklady Biochemistry and Biophysics presents English translations of current Russian research from the biochemistry and biophysics sections of the Doklady akademii nauk (Proceedings of the Russian Academy of Sciences). The Proceedings appear 36 times per year; articles on biochemistry and biophysics are collected, translated, and published in 6 issues per year. Doklady Biochemistry and Biophysics publishes the most significant new research in biochemistry and biophysics being done in Russia today, thus ensuring its scientific priority. Since 2001, the journals Doklady Biochemistry and Doklady Biophysics have been combined.

ELECTROPHORESIS is an international journal that publishes original manuscripts on all aspects of electrophoresis. Topics include new or improved analytical and preparative methods, development of theory, and innovative applications of electrophoretic methods in the study of nucleic acids, proteins, and other compounds. Papers describing the application of standard electrophoretic methods will not be considered. Microfluidics and proteomics, which have been an integral part of the Journal since 2000 or earlier, have been added as subtitles in 2008 to make them more visible to the readers and authors (Papers in the areas of microfluidics and proteomics, which are not limited to electrophoresis-based methods will also be accepted for publication). As a natural expansion of the scope of the Journal, we now add Nanoanalysis as another subtitle. Nanoanalysis is a broad term, and therefore papers that will be accepted for publications in nanoanalysis must be focused on one or more of the following: (i) nanoscale electrokinetics and phenomena related to electric double layer and/or confinement in nano-sized geometry, (ii) single cell and sub- cellular analysis, (iii) nano-sensors and ultra-sensitive detection aspects (e.g., involving quantum dots, 'nano-electrodes' or nano-spray MS), (iv) nano-scale/nanopore DNA sequencing (next generation sequencing), (v) micro- and nano-scale sample preparation, (vi) nanoparticles and cells analyses by dielectrophoresis, (vii) separation-based analysis using nanoparticles, nanotubes and nanowires. Contributions will be allocated to one of the six subject categories: (i) general, (ii) nucleic acids, (iii) capillary electrophoresis and capillary electrochromatography (CE and CEC), (iv) microfluidics and miniaturization, (v) proteomics and two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE), and (vi) nanoanalysis. On submission authors are requested to indicate the preferred subject category. ELECTROPHORESIS will continue to serve as an indispensable vehicle for the dissemination of efficacious advances by covering all operative approaches from gels through capillaries to chips. Energy & Environmental Science is an international journal dedicated to publishing exceptionally important and high quality, agenda-setting research tackling the key global and societal challenges of ensuring the provision of energy and protecting our environment for the future. The scope is intentionally broad and the journal recognises the complexity of issues and challenges relating to energy conversion and storage, alternative fuel technologies and environmental science. For work to be published it must be linked to the energy-environment nexus and be of significant general interest to our community-spanning readership. Environmental Research publishes original reports describing studies of the adverse effects of environmental agents on humans and animals. The principal aim of the journal is to assess the impact of chemicals and microbiological pollutants on human health. Both in vivo and in vitro studies, focused on defining the etiology of environmentally induced illness and to increase understanding of the mechanisms by which environmental agents cause disease, are especially welcome. EuPA Open Proteomics is published by Elsevier on behalf of the European Proteomics Association (EuPA) and is aimed at both European and international protein scientists.Expanding and complementing the society affiliate Journal of Proteomics, EuPA Open Proteomics will publish on all aspects of proteomics and cover the complete spectrum from basic to translational proteomics. The journal European Food Research and Technology publishes state-of-the-art research papers and review articles on fundamental and applied food research. The journal's mission is the fast publication of high quality papers on front-line research, new and novel techniques and developing trends in such disciplines as chemistry and biochemistry; technology and molecular biotechnology; nutritional chemistry and toxicology; analytical and sensory methodologies and food physics. EJCI considers any original contribution from the most sophisticated basic molecular sciences to applied clinical and translational research and evidence-based medicine across a broad range of subspecialties. The EJCI publishes reports of high-quality research that pertain to the genetic, molecular, cellular, or physiological basis of human biology and disease, as well as research that addresses prevalence, diagnosis, course, treatment, and prevention of disease. We are primarily interested in studies directly pertinent to humans, but submission of robust in vitro and animal work is also encouraged. Interdisciplinary work and research using innovative methods and combinations of laboratory, clinical, and epidemiological methodologies and techniques is of great interest to the journal. Several categories of manuscripts (for detailed description see below) are considered: editorials, original articles (also including randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses), reviews (narrative reviews), opinion articles (including debates, perspectives and commentaries); and letters to the Editor.

EXPERIMENTAL and MOLECULAR MEDICINE, EMM, publishes research papers and a limited number of reviews in the fields of basic and applied molecular biology, and experimental biochemistry in medicine. Research areas include analysis of gene structure, function and regulation; molecular mechanisms of genetic recombination; recombinant nucleic acid technology and gene therapy. EMM is also dedicated to the experimental biochemistry in medicine, including the regulatory mechanisms of body functions; structural biology and interaction between proteins and/or nucleic acids. Although special research areas are emphasized for publication, articles dealing with molecular biology and experimental biochemistry in other areas will also be welcomed.

Experimental Dermatology provides a vehicle for the rapid publication of innovative and definitive reports, letters to the editor and review articles covering all aspects of experimental dermatology. Preference is given to papers of immediate importance to other investigators, either by virtue of their new methodology, experimental data or new ideas. The essential criteria for publication are clarity, experimental soundness and novelty. Letters to the editor related to published reports may also be accepted, provided that they are short and scientifically relevant to the reports mentioned, in order to provide a continuing forum for discussion. Review articles represent a state-of-the-art overview and are invited by the editors. Colour illustrations will be accepted free of charge.

Experimental Gerontology is a multidisciplinary journal for the publication of work from all areas of biogerontology, with an emphasis on studies focused at the systems level of investigation, such as whole organisms (e.g. invertebrate genetic models), immune, endocrine and cellular systems, as well as whole population studies (e.g. epidemiology).
