The journal embraces every aspect of soil science and welcomes reviews of regional progress.
Geotechnical and Geological Engineering publishes papers in the areas of soil and rock engineering and also of geology as applied in the civil engineering, mining and petroleum industries. The emphasis is on the engineering aspects of soil and rock mechanics, geology and hydrogeology, although papers on theoretical and experimental advances in ground mechanics are also welcomed for inclusion.The journal encompasses a broad spectrum of geo-engineering although several areas have been identified which will be given particular priority: Soil and rock engineering: Foundation engineering: Applied geology for design and construction: Geo-environmental engineering: Earthquake engineering and dynamic behavior of soils and rocks: Geohazards and mitigation: Mining engineering: Geotechnical aspects of petroleum engineering: Information technology applications in geo-engineering: Novel geotechnical construction techniques: Case histories describing important geo-engineering projects. Green Chemistry provides a unique forum for the publication of innovative research on the development of alternative green and sustainable technologies. Based on the, but not limited to, the twelve principles of green chemistry defined by Anastas and Warner (Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice, P T Anastas and J C Warner, Oxford University Press, Oxford, 1998). Green chemistry is, by definition, a continuously-evolving frontier. Therefore, the inclusion of a particular material or technology does not, of itself, guarantee that a paper is suitable for the journal. To be suitable, the novel advance should have the potential for reduced environmental impact relative to the state of the art. Green Chemistry does not normally deal with research associated with 'end-of-pipe' or remediation issues.

The scope of the International Journal of Environmental Analytical Chemistry comprises such subjects as original research on all aspects of analytical work related to environmental problems such as analysis of organic, inorganic and radioactive pollutants in air, water, sediments and biota; and determination of harmful substances, including analytical methods for the investigation of chemical or metabolic breakdown patterns in the environment and in biological samples.The journal also covers the development of new analytical methods or improvement of existing ones useful for the control and investigation of pollutants or trace amounts of naturally occurring active chemicals in all environmental compartments. Development, modification and automation of instruments and techniques with potential in environment sciences are also part of the journal.Case studies are also considered, particularly for areas where information is scarce or lacking, providing that reported data is significant and representative, either spatially or temporally, and quality assured. Irrigation Science presents original articles and short communications reporting the results of irrigation-related research. Coverage includes relevant contributions from the plant, soil and atmospheric sciences and analysis of field experimentation, as well as irrigation water management modeling. Special emphasis is devoted to multi-disciplinary studies dealing with the challenges of maintaining the long-term productivity of irrigated lands and increasing the efficiency of agricultural water use. Aspects of particular interest include physiology of plant growth and yield response to water status; physical and chemical aspects of water status and movement in the plant-soil-atmosphere system; salinity and alkalinity control by soil and water management; agricultural drainage, measurement and modification of crop and control of water in plant, soil and atmosphere; water requirements in irrigation practice; irrigation scheduling and ecological aspects of irrigated agriculture.
AIMS Irrigation and Drainage is the official journal of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID). The objectives of the ICID are to advance the science and art of irrigation, drainage and flood management. Published five times a year, the Journal is a prestigious peer-reviewed publication and enables ICID to accomplish its objectives of publishing original papers on scientific, engineering, environmental and socio-economic issues associated with irrigation, drainage and flood management in a clear, concise and uniform style that is easily understood by an international audience. ICID has for half a century, been the main forum for the global dissemination of experience and new ideas in the quest for the sustainable use and protection of water and land to meet the World's increasing demand for food and fibre. SCOPE Human intervention in the control of water for sustainable agricultural development involves the application of technology and management approaches to: (i) provide the appropriate quantities of water when it is needed by the crops, (ii) prevent salinisation and water-logging of the root zone, (iii) protect land from flooding, and (iv) maximise the beneficial use of water by appropriate allocation, conservation and reuse. All this has to be achieved within a framework of economic, social and environmental constraints. The Journal, therefore, covers a wide range of subjects, advancement in which, through high quality papers in the Journal, will make a significant contribution to the enormous task of satisfying the needs of the world's ever-increasing population. The Journal also publishes book reviews.
