The Food Science and Biotechnology (Food Sci. Biotechnol.; FSB), an international journal published bimonthly by the Korean Society of Food Science and Technology (KoSFoST), provides results of original research on the physical, chemical, biological, and health aspects of food science and technology, and a review related to food science and biotechnology. FSB has been covered in Current Contents and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) from 2003. FSB has been also indexed by SCOPUS from September, 2008. FBP aims to be the principal international journal for publication of high quality, original papers in the branches of engineering and science dedicated to the safe processing of biological products. It is the only journal to exploit the synergy between biotechnology, bioprocessing and food engineering.Papers showing how research results can be used in engineering design, and accounts of experimental or theoretical research work bringing new perspectives to established principles, highlighting unsolved problems or indicating directions for future research, are particularly welcome. Contributions that deal with new developments in equipment or processes and that can be given quantitative expression are encouraged. The journal is especially interested in papers that extend the boundaries of food and bioproducts processing.The journal has a strong emphasis on the interface between engineering and food or bioproducts. Green Chemistry provides a unique forum for the publication of innovative research on the development of alternative green and sustainable technologies. Based on the, but not limited to, the twelve principles of green chemistry defined by Anastas and Warner (Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice, P T Anastas and J C Warner, Oxford University Press, Oxford, 1998). Green chemistry is, by definition, a continuously-evolving frontier. Therefore, the inclusion of a particular material or technology does not, of itself, guarantee that a paper is suitable for the journal. To be suitable, the novel advance should have the potential for reduced environmental impact relative to the state of the art. Green Chemistry does not normally deal with research associated with 'end-of-pipe' or remediation issues.

Health and Technology is the first truly cross-disciplinary journal on issues related to health technologies addressing all professions relating to health, care and health technology.The journal constitutes an information platform connecting medical technology and informatics with the needs of care, health care professionals and patients. J-BHI publishes original papers describing recent advances in the field of biomedical and health informatics where information and communication technologies intersect with health, healthcare, life sciences and biomedicine. Papers must contain original content in theoretical analysis, methods, technical development, and/or novel clinical applications of information systems. Topics covered by J-BHI include but are not limited to: acquisition, transmission, storage, retrieval, management, processing and analysis of biomedical and health information; applications of information and communication technologies in the practice of healthcare, public health, patient monitoring, preventive care, early diagnosis of diseases, discovery of new therapies, and patient specific treatment protocols leading to improved outcomes; and the integration of electronic medical and health records, methods of longitudinal data analysis, data mining and discovery tools. Manuscripts may deal with these applications and their integration, such as clinical information systems, decision support systems, medical and biological imaging informatics, wearable systems, body area/sensor networks, informatics in biological and physiological systems, personalized and pervasive health technologies (u-, p-, m- and e-Health), telemedicine, home healthcare and wellness management. Topics related to integration include interoperability, protocol-based patient care, evidence-based medicine, and methods of secure patient data.

The IEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society (J-EDS) is an open-access, fully electronic scientific journal publishing papers ranging from fundamental to applied research that are scientifically rigorous and relevant to electron devices. The J-EDS publishes original and significant contributions relating to the theory, modelling, design, performance, and reliability of electron and ion integrated circuit devices and interconnects, involving insulators, metals, organic materials, micro-plasmas, semiconductors, quantum-effect structures, vacuum devices, and emerging materials with applications in bioelectronics, biomedical electronics, computation, communications, displays, microelectromechanics, imaging, micro-actuators, nanodevices, optoelectronics, photovoltaics, power IC's, and micro-sensors. Tutorial and review papers on these subjects are, also, published. And, occasionally special issues with a collection of papers on particular areas in more depth and breadth are, also, published. J-EDS publishes all papers that are judged to be technically valid and original. All research papers benefit from rapid peer review and publication, and are deposited in IEEE Xplore.

New for IEEE J-EDS: Expansion in areas of display technologies.

The IEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society (J-EDS) has been committed to publishing papers ranging from fundamental to applied research relevant to the broad family of electron devices and has now extended its mandate to provide a home for timely dissemination of new results on all aspects of display technologies to meet growing demands. This replaces the recently discontinued IEEE/OSA Journal of Display Technology. It gives me great pleasure to take on this exciting task of Special Editor to expand the pool of manuscript submissions in displays to J-EDS as well as to bring in new areas encompassing the science and applications of displays. Papers are solicited in all areas of display technology including: flat panel displays (LCDs, OLEDs, electrophoretic, etc.); active matrix architectures, including flexible/foldable displays; quantum dots and quantum-LED and -LCD displays; micro- LED displays; 3D and holographic displays; electronic paper; micro- and projection-displays; materials, components, manufacturing, and packaging; on-pixel and off-pixel drivers, interfaces and display systems; modeling and simulation; reliability and testing; solid-state lighting; applications; emerging technologies and wearable including medical applications, encompassing displays, sensors, and devices; and human factors. Expanded coverage on display technology is scheduled for Spring 2019 that will consist of invited papers overseeing a wide range of display technologies. My aim is to have J-EDS rapidly establish itself as a home for display technology that is worthy of capturing the latest and greatest in the field.

As a result of recent advances in MEMS/NEMS and systems biology, as well as the emergence of synthetic bacteria and lab/process-on-a-chip techniques, it is now possible to design chemical “circuits”, custom organisms, micro/nanoscale swarms of devices, and a host of other new systems. This success opens up a new frontier for interdisciplinary communications techniques using chemistry, biology, and other principles that have not been considered in the communications literature. The IEEE Transactions on Molecular, Biological, and Multi-Scale Communications (T-MBMSC) is devoted to the principles, design, and analysis of communication systems that use physics beyond classical electromagnetism. This includes molecular, quantum, and other physical, chemical and biological techniques; as well as new communication techniques at small scales or across multiple scales (e.g., nano to micro to macro; note that strictly nanoscale systems, 1-100 nm, are outside the scope of this journal). Original research articles on one or more of the following topics are within scope: mathematical modeling, information/communication and network theoretic analysis, standardization and industrial applications, and analytical or experimental studies on communication processes or networks in biology. Contributions on related topics may also be considered for publication. Contributions from researchers outside the IEEE’s typical audience are encouraged.

The IEEE Transactions on NanoBioscience reports on original, innovative, and interdisciplinary research, both fundamental and applied, focusing on nano- to micro-scale biological systems. The journal invites contributions describing advances in bio-science, -technology, and -engineering, from biomolecular to multi-cellular domains, concerning their physics (e.g., mechanics, materials, electromagnetism); their chemistry (e.g., DNA, proteins, biochemical pathways); or their information storage and processing (e.g., biological signals, algorithms, and computation).
